It is stupid don't get me wrong, I kind of think they're trying to do a similar thing to 13. However I'm letting it slide since 7 was originally a 3-4 disk game and they're probably trying to mimic that for nostalgia sake.
I mean I'm pretty indifferent to 7 but I am curious about how they're going to handle it since it isn't going to be a carbon copy of the original game, so it has more of my interest. Not to mention I just hate 8 way more than 7, 8 is just boring in all angles in my opinion unlike 7 which at least had some charm that's unfortunate been butcher by crap writting in the expanded universe. I just hope the Materia system is changed, I really despised how they handled Materia in the original. Just change it to somthing that makes sense.
It would also be really great if they keep the original charactrization from the original version, if Aerith doesn't threaten to rip off a pimp's dick off like the original I will be very disappointed. If they at least keep the original characters close to how they were back then I can say they at least did something good.
I really hate how they flanderized Aerith from streetwise tom boy to too good for this sinful earth vapid messiah flower girl in particular. Make Aerith spunky again dammit, I demand spunky Aerith! And let's not get started with Cloud's [tornado fang]ing brooding emoness and Sephiroth's excessive homoerotic obsession with Cloud, though I still stand by my saying that Sephiroth is the worst FF villian in the series. At least Cloud had some personality and occasional dorkiness, especially when he got over his issues. At least he had more emotions than more broody than Batman tourtured soul. Seriously [tornado fang] Advent Children and the Kingdom Hearts apperances, except for the battle of 1,000 Heartless where he at least had snark.
Also more plot relevance for Red XIII.......the poor guy needs more plot relevance. Making Yuffie and Vincent mandatory would help too, they kind of suffered a bit due to being optional.
