Seriously there was even one dude who blocked the flag and a teleporter with the invisible Kecleon dolls. The thing is I never have Secret Pals that give me flags either, so it makes it twice as frustrating.

Did you get the game from VG Person's website? Normally it should be able to play fine unless you're on Windows 8/8.1, where the frame-rate is gimped in fullscreen because RPG Maker 2000/2003 uses an older DirectX that Windows 8/8.1 doesn't handle as well as Windows 7. There is a fix that I found for the fullscreen if you don't mind the game stretched in fullscreen.
