I visited my friends, for the first time since they moved out of state, and we went to the local mall, and there was a small little arcade in it. interesting assortment of games, although perhaps not enogh normal ones and a few too many gimmicky ones like the slot machine or other such things. there were a bunch of out of order machines piled up in the back, and a bunch of the working ones were showing their wear and tear, like a whack-a-alligator with no mallet, or a shooter where one of the guns was out of order.
curiously, me and my pal were talkin about Carnevil and how neat it seemed, and how we could possibly emulate it, and not even a half hour later when we went int the arcade, they had a carnevil machine. that said, it was stuck on the bootup screen and I wasted 2 tokens on that, but then when the guy rebooted the machine, turns out it had like 18 credits in it, so we tried it, but it was definitely going on the fritz, seemed like whenever something intensive happened on screen, it would start stuttering and hanging up bad, until it crashed and rebooted. then when we chose another stage it got stuck in an infinite loading screen. shame. the little bit we played was fun though.
We also got to play arcade Virtual On, and that was fun. That one worked flawlessly. I did pretty good. If there was ever an arcade cabinet I actually wanted, it was that one. cool [parasitic bomb].
