The Professor stood. "Perhaps the lightest of us should cross, yes? If, if, if, say, Aya were to use Riagan's height to launch herself over, p-perhaps act as backup should the spell fail?"

"That sounds like a good back up plan in case the freezing spell doesn't work out as it looks. As for Plan A should we have Pema or the Prof go across since both are pretty light." Sakura asked.

The Professor nodded in agreement. "He, he makes, he makes a good p-point. We require Peta's undivided attention with maintaining her spell. I will go across."

Toshi - "Lets see..." she performed sequence of handsigns:
Snake → Ram → Tiger → Horse → Snake → Rabbit → Horse → Snake → Rabbit
Then holding both her palms out towards the slime... "Hyōton: Hyōga taisho-hō!!" ...she fire's a powdery beam of snow, freezing the slime's area of effect on contact.

"Please no interrupting the voyage of the SS Pema Unlimited. Once you've boarded, there's no stopping this baby!" Pema replied to Shuu and gestured her hand towards her mouth, as if she was speaking into an intercom, then continued to dish out her ice spell.

She already started to maintain the path for her 'passengers', and fully intended to see it through.

"I personally wouldn't recommend this cruise, as the captain has been known to eat everyone's food." Salem remarked.

"Hide your food, people, this is going to be a wild ride!" Pema cheered.

Waiting for a path to form, the Professor gingerly stepped onto the frozen slime. There was a crackling sound as the slime gave under his weight, but he didn't sink very far. Taking another step, he began to forge a path, trying to keep up with the frozen portions while the slime thawed behind him.

There are a few close calls but the prof avoids being violated by slime a second time and reaches the center platform (assuming with Susanoo in tow) at the center is a rather elegant brazier with an odd blue flame flickering at the center, it oddly enough not producing any heat.

"Hmm..." Curious, the Professor reached out to touch the flame itself. It seemed odd, and he wasn't concerned with burning himself, and he wanted to test a theory before just grabbing the brazier.

The flame neither burns nor damages his flesh, if it is indeed a flame it could be magic.

Nodding, the Professor produced the torch he had procured earlier. Holding it out, he touched its end to the flame.

The torch does not ignite but rather the flame simply floats off the brazier migrating to the torch, almost like a small spirit from the Prof's books on the supernatural elements of the world.

However as the flame is taken and the slime begins to react violently multiple tendrils raise from the pool and begin to thrash about, far too many for the party to handle even as a group.

Shuu gritted his teeth. "Susanoo! Get him back here! Quick!" He snapped, the daemon materializing himself under the Professor.

"There are too many! I can't get him across!" Susanoo called, creating a barrier of wind and lightning in an attempt to keep the tendrils from grabbing the Professor while the others could figure out how to get them back across safely.

((The boss of the Water Temple is a good example of how it attacks, the tendrils are all over the pool attacking everyone so have fun figuring out a solution : > ))
