I am amazed that Chris doesn't seem to understand how probability works considering that he went to college to design video games. I mean RNGs is the basis of making RPGs.
Yeah, that's what nailed it for me. Then again, such things like probability might not even be taught in that major, as it could focus on mainly the design aspect, such character and stage design, interface design, any HUD designs...
When I took multimedia courses, it focused on stuff that I could have learned in any art course. Did I learn how to set up a three-point lighting rig, learn how to use my camera and properly direct a scene? Nope! Just learned motion graphics... which I already knew about.
Sometimes, those specialty courses are a big waste of time. You want to get into the nitty-gritty aspects of designing a game? Take a computer science course and learn hardcore programming.
