You mean like Guild Wars? Yea...good luck with that. Then again , Square Enix as so much money they basicaly could buy Blizzard if they wanted too. Or the other way around. o~O

either give the game fore free and ask for monthly fees
or sell the game with no monthly fees
because paying more money for a game you already bought is crap
same with DLC selling half the game and adding new content just to get more money is why so many people started pirating

So far all games that you buy from the store gives you 30/60 days of free playing.
A mmoprg game cost maybe a bit under the normal pay of a game.

And yea, i hate this DLC content B* they have. I can understand a expansion that adds new levels. But...500 Wii points for a custome?
A single custom?! Square Enix! >_< I am referring to My Life as a Dark Lord.

The only way I'm even going to consider it is if I know a large enough amount of people who will play it. Otherwise I'll avoid it, much like what I did for XI.

As for the idea of no monthly fee or initial cost... that's never gonna happen.

Its suppose to be some new way of leveling, something about the Job classes and less grinding. I have to look up more on this to be sure though.
I heard it wouldn't have levelling at all. Sounds like a novel idea.

Yeah from what I've heard they'll make it more user friendly... or if you will... "casual".

Meaning that you don't have to invest big parts of your day in order to achieve something.

Not too long ago they changed how leveling and parties worked in XI, something about making all party members termporarly the same level so you wouldn't have to wait around for hours to find people.  So hopefully they see now how to make things more enjoyable ^^

Anyone got the beta yet? I'm curious to how it'll work in the greater context.

Since this is the only Final Fantasy with decent character designs and that is visually pleasing with casual medieval stuff instead of colorful unwealdy clusterfucks, I'm interested in it. Specially with these rumors that it's gonna be expansion-based instead of subscription-based.

An acquaintance of mine is in, anything specific you want me to ask?

In hindsight that video is entirely unimpressive other than the setup (translator and all), I've seen more interesting character creation screens.

How's the gameplay? XII-like?

I herd gameplay and "level up" style is like Oblivion/Elder Scrolls, actually.

Also... thanks Flash, now I gotta go read/watch moar about it.

...what? No. That can't be right. FINAL FANTASY, of all the games in the world, can't be introducing third-person action gameplay into an MMO. I refuse to believe that.

That's like saying Megaman is being given the Lifetime Achievement Award of Shooting Up.

lol, Final Fantasy can be quite epic when it wants to be. That and the online team at Square consists of actually bright and brilliant folks.

That said, I don't know to how much extent it plays like Elder Scrolls, but I do know from both leaks and images that the level up process is identical. Even the menus look like something out of Oblivion. So yeah, might not want to overlook entirely. Try out the free trial when it comes out.

I meant the gameplay. Elder Scrolls has pretty much a first-person action-based gameplay. I seriously doubt Square-Enix would follow that. i am not doubting any of the game's epicness or quality, simply its genre.
