The shouting of the phrase coupled with the line below it suggested that I was thoroughly amazed at the quality of the game.

...Plus I hardly ever came to RPM until MM9 came out (I've had more posts this revival than all of the others combined XD)

So, from what I've seen... there'll be a heavy focus on exploring and collecting ( a la Metroid), right?

MetroidManVania X.

Speaking of which, what the heck is up with Ace Spark's game? The contest ended awhile ago and there hasn't been a single update as to if the game's been canceled or not.

So many replies so fast. Love this place.

@Ballade: You are totally right, I'm focusing a lot on exploration and hidden stuff. Who doens't like that?!
But at the same time I try to make levels challenging and with strategic enemy placement, so it feels like a trhu megaman X experience packed with action.

The game will also feature several RPG elements such as puzzles, quests and level system for the sake of level farming enthusiasts.
Each skill/weapon will have 4 atributes(speed, rate of fire, power, combo sequence, time...) that can be upgraded with Skill Points gained when you level up.

I'll add more details about the game later.

EDIT:
I don't want to be an ass but, please don't comment on other fangames here. Thank you.

Seconded forever.
You mention in the youtube info that you're looking for level designers, but is that just the layout design or do you have some sort of level creation tool they get to use?

Thanks guys!!!

@Rockmon: Doesn’t make sense for me to join with someone who is making another game.

@Align: The person would need to do a basic layout and also skin it with tiles and patterns. I don’t have a level creation tool, that would only limit me and make things harder, I do my levels on a small pixel program called Idraw3 and I use Photoshop to reduce size and add transparent color. Basically I get parts of X-X3 map tiles and rip the individual tiles which are 16x16, and then I start copy pasting them around. I also make custom tiles to fit my needs.

If you are interested I can show you an example of what i would expect the person to do.

Also, does anyone have any suggestion, something that you really wanted to see on a Megaman X game? If it's viable and makes sense with what I have planned I can add it. Also need ideas for more Zero skills to increase the variety of combos.

sweetness dude.
also, Zero...
mmm... maybe bring the Buster back? X7 and 8 are sorely missing it... :(
yeah. the buster I say... either a regular charge buster like X's, or the buster he had in X2 and 3. or even minus the saber part. just a double shot buster.
as for actual MOVES, then may I suggest the K- knuckle? 8D I mean, it would be easy to edit the buster double shot sprites to punching, and add the shoryuken to him, I mean, he didi it in X8...

although I think X needs something more...  It feels like he's lacking something, though i cant place what...... maybe one or two more meele moves. maybe shoryuken, or some variation thereof I mean, zero has that downwards punching thing no? X (or Zero) could be given shoryuken, so they do that, and follow up with the downwards attack.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Well, I've always had an idea of absolutely silly Mavericks, like Elongated Giraffe and Psychosis Squirrel, but I doubt you have that kinda thing planned!   8D

Um, maybe perhaps a Double Mega Buster, Hadoken, Shoryuken X combo maybe?

yeah. If your going to have Zero THAT kickass, then you should make X a kickass ranged character. double buster would probably be the best... that and or maybe hyper charge.

Acid was the one who mentioned the whole exploring thing, I just asked what the hell's up with Ace Spark and his game (since it was described as a Metriod-esque type of game).

Anyway, I noticed you had an Elemental system going with Zero, I saw an up attack with a flaming blade and an electric one. Are the bosses going to be similar or are they going to be weak to a certain weapon (you mentioned having RPG elements and the MM RPGs that have come out have used an Elemental Circle where X type is weak to Y and so on rather than other RPGs where it depends entirely on the enemy itself).

My. God.

That was flat out impressive. Being a fan developer myself, I am very picky about quality. I don't generally go out of my way to say much about other projects, since most don't deserve it. I really think you deserve it though.

The part that really blew me away was, not only did it seem like a nice fluid engine, you just changed characters in real time right in the middle. That was the selling point for me.

Personally id rather not have a MegaVania game in that vein, but it certainly was interesting in itself.
