For the moment, Touhou Rock Girl (the 8bit Touhou game starring my lovely favorite Hakurei Reimu~) is only a soundtrack for the moment. The screenshots are just mock-ups and the game doesn't seem to be real, but the soundtrack will still come on December 25th, celebrating that Rockman 9 is available for download on Wii.

I'll see if I can get my hands on it! owo

EDIT: FOMG! Castlevania Music (1:24)!!!

Ahh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

The soundtrack sounds like hottness! I'm already salivating over it!  owo

Some of the music for RockGirl can be heard here, even though the soundtack doesn't come out until the end of December: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmQ-Gh2IsS0&feature=related

Neta kinda reminds me of all those Super Mario World hacks. Fun to watch someone play, not all that fun to play yourself, unless you're used to really hard games. Even so, I downloaded it.  -u-'

Not sure if this is old or not but...

Original / Re: Robot Masters Rank Commander.

It's funny, I'd always thought of there being a leader amongst the robot masters. My list was like this (leaving out second in command)

MM1: Elec Man (Sorry, Cut Man)
MM2: Quick Man (Because despite Metal Man's awesome look's he jobs to his own weapon. HARD)

MM3: Shadow Man (He's a freaking Ninja! A NINJA! Forgive me, Magnet Man)
MM4: Pharaoh Man (Pharaoh Shot rocks and PM looks so cool. And that music!)

MM5: Crystal Man, maybe?
MM6: Knight Man

MM7: Slash Man or Shade Man
MM8: Tengu Man. (This one could be debatable since all 8 robot masters in this game have issues)

MM&B: Crap, I don't know!
MM9: Tornado Man, of course!

If not, promptly kill yourselves and come back from the dead to hear it!

Fan Creations / Mega Man R Soundtrack
« on: December 04, 2008, 02:00:16 AM »
Since Nitro Beast let us hear his music for Rockman X: Blood Plasma even though the game isn't out yet, I figured I'd go ahead and follow suit.

The Mega Man R soundtrack is music from a Mega Man game that does not exist yet, save for the robot masters I've draw up and the intro that I've doodled. Much of the music comes from the chiptunes lovers at 20A3.org, a few tracks from existing NES titles.

When selecting songs, I think I was influenced by a number of things. Since this is something that I've been compiling back in July, I was probably a bit influenced by Mega Man 9 (I certainly was with some of the robot masters). I also took a cue from Mushroom Kingdom Fusion and gave each character their own Stage Clear themes, Intro Stage themes, and ending themes. I tried to pick something that I think would fit each character.

While these are chiptunes, not every single track sounds Mega Man-like because I wanted to give the music a bit of a different feel. If the game ever gets made, I don't want this to be "just another Mega Man game" and I wanted to reflect that in the music.

Anyhoo, I thought I'd finally post this up. Hope you guys dig the songs I selected.

So many releases shows a lot of dedication.  :)

"Now What?" you ask? Well, I was gonna say you could do the Mega Man & Bass soundtrack in NSF, but then I figured I'd be sounding needy.  -u-'

When you say "have fun" what does it mean exactly? Did we play Monopoly or Scrabble? Because Monopoly is always waaaaaaay more fun than Scrabble.

Awesome Reg, maybe you can convert it into a Torrent and pop it up on some torrent sites. :)

EDIT: Hmm Well it seems I figured out how to make a multiple NSF with all the S3M's into one big NSF.. think I should do one last release? :P heh

I actually don't know much about torrents. In fact I know nothing about them.

Go for the last relase!

I tried to contact him to help him get his remakes more accurate, but he's not responding to me.

Could be because I emailed him in English..too bad I don't speak Japanese. :(

That's a shame. I'd love to hear more from him.

Well, I've included an mp3 pack with tssf's MM9 NSF & S3M soundtrack. Get equipped with it!

Hmm it seems that the guy who did the Rockman 7 FC and 8 FC music tracks, also remade a bunch of 9 music.

JAWESOME! Hopefully some mp3s will turn up! MM9 is gonna have like more 8-bit style music than any other MM game!

My worst night mare so far is fighting Shadow Man. I have to have full Top Spin and reasonable life energy or I'm screwed. Now if the Doc Robots show up, I'll have to worry about Shadow Man AND Quick Man. Most of the time I need at least one E-Tank for Quick man and since this hack has none, I'll have to step up my game.

Thanks guys. Do me a favour, if you like what you hear don't hesitate to pass it on. I'm trying to get it around to as much people as possible. I even somehow managed to get it posted at Zophar's Domain, which is actually really cool, to have it featured along side actual Mega Man soundtrack rips. Hehe.

Thanks again!

That's awesome!

Don't worry, when I find good game music, I always share. I'm planning on posting this stuff on some forums. I'm even working on converting the NSFs to mp3s. Word will get out!

I'm VERY impressed. I listened to the NSF version of Concerete Man's theme and then listened to the version on the Rockman 9 OST. I'm afraid some may dismiss them as the exact same, but I can hear the difference. I believe I actually prefer your NSF version more.

Excellent work tssf.

Very impressive! Also, I didn't know that the composers of the MM9 OST didn't think the NES could handle what they had in mind. I think they may have underestimated the NES's audio capabilities. I'm still impressed when I play NES games I previously hadn't played before and hear some sweet musical scores.

Best. Video. Ever.

He took out the Top Spin and was like "WHY am I even using this?" Proto Man was like "I got nothin'."  8)
