Thank you! ^_^

And it was intentionally for the girl to look like the boy, but I was trying to make her more feminine looking but because it looked weird so I left it as is but I made the pants into shorts for the girl.

The Youkai and Elves will have different appearances for the Male and Female couterparts.

Hrrr, it just makes it feel a lil' pointless to have female and male sprites when there isn't much of a difference. Well there is one but they're really hard to tell apart in super saiyan form~ \o/

...To me anyway orz

I updated the Female's face where her eyes are up 1 pixel space and she shows a smirk and her hat is now a headband instead.

And the Super Saiyan form is just a base to work on the rest of their sprites which is their head. I MIGHT give them a Super Human form, Gold Hair for Males and Silver Hair for Females.

About the Female Avatar for the Ultimate Tenkaichi Warrior game project I'm thinking of switching up her stand to where she's giving a thumbs down to the opponent as her idle stance. Different from the boy, right?

Here's some of my most recent works!

Touhou - Melira Sketch WIP:

Hello there! Been so long since I posted submitted another work of art here.

The one who created the concept and character of Melira is "solkenneth003" from YouTube. You can check his channel here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/solkenneth003

Melira is an original character that has the ability to manipulate all the elements in the world and is in possession of a unique weapon: The Sword of Salvation.

I take NO credit of creating this character. Just the drawing here. I plan to add her as a Secret Boss fight for an upcoming RMVX project I'm planning with the permission of the author granted for fun but without spoiling anything about the character. Just a cameo appearance. I plan to add a half-body, or full body (maybe), drawing of her and I did the little sketch of her in the upper corner to help setup what I what for the final version as a guideline.

This is still an incomplete drawing and it's good practice for me who hasn't been drawing for weeks now! XD

Chris Corona Re-Design Haircut:

This is a re-design of Chris Corona's Haircut, which I like much more than before as it's truly closer to what I envision him of having for a haircut!

The top left one is what I'm going to use, but the one of the top right is what I drew first with the top part of the hair sticking up more! The one thing I forgot to add was where the white frosted tips at the end of his hair appear, but I'll leave that for the final one.

The one thing that was tricky was the hair tail, the little two spikes on the back of Chris' neck, which I'm not sure how they should look. Any suggestions? I like the top right one but the top left one has a nice curve one too but I'm not sure.

The bottom left one was the test what kind of side-burn I want for him going for the DBZ side-burn like Super Saiyan Gohan's for example. I'm not sure, but I did use the DBZ hairstyle as a small reference to help with one of the spikes of the hair.

Also I drew some anime/manga-like eyes on the bottom right to test my skills on drawing eyes as it's been awhile. I'm practicing up for a BIG game project I'm cooking up that I'm sure a lot of people will look forward to... I hope!

Tell me what you think!

Rough Sketches 08-08-11:

These are some random sketches I drew up the other day, which is why it's labeled as "08-08-11" to refer to the date I drew them on. I tried drawing them closely like how some of the Japanese artist draw their work as unfinished sketches which looks good and still has that "professional" air around them.

Just a bunch of anime/manga-like eyes like I have been drawing before but I felt like uploading this one as I did a pretty good darn job on them! ^_^

Also I did a bulky dude on the bottom corner as I was watching Dragon Ball Z Kai (I love both the original Z and the Kai remake, with Kai updated the dialogue and cutting (most of) the filler and the music before it got changed) and got the urge to draw a muscular guy to practice drawing beefed up guys or create characters that power-up to change their look or simply create big dudes.

And finally a new look at the necklace Chris Corona wears, a star-shape like pendant with the Yin & Yang symbol embedded into it.

What do you think?

Can you give me some feedback guys?

Ah, I see I'm not the only one who will fill pages in their sketchbooks with random eyes and faces...

Anywho, Chris's haircut is looking pretty good.  And I like that pendant in the bottom image.

I kinda miss the frosty tipped hair, but regardless, it does look much better now.

I agree, that pendant is nice

Actually I forgot to add the Frost Tips on the hair but it's still going to be there, but thank you! I did my best to make it come out natural and good.

Also here's some more drawings for my character, Ami Rozu...

Ami Rozu - Eyeless Sketch:

This is a sketch of my main heroine, Ami Rozu, of my manga project that I drew about 5 days ago. This one is different as I left this drawing
without any eyes on her as I was looking for the right type of eyes to be perfect for her Tsundere nature. I still need some more work on her,
but I did change up her forehead bangs a bit.

Yeah, I know another pink-haired tsundere character but I like them and this is how I imagine her to be. The eyes all around her are examples
I was doing ranging from realistic to more anime-ish or cartoonish eyes that could be her eyes and simple practice on my part.

Think you can help me? Which pair of eyes do you think looks best on Ami?

Ami Rozu Sketch 083011:

Here's another drawing of Ami Rozu, my main heroine of my manga project, that I did today in about 30 minutes.

I think she came out great, better than what I previous drew, but I did some reference to draw her like this by looking at a certain character
and the art style but changing it up to match my style and Ami's look. I love how her bangs came out this time and looks better than what I
originally had.

Just a little rough sketch, and I'm trying to figure out Ami's measurements right now... not to sound perverted by Ami's chest size is about
D-Cup or between that and C-Cup size. Yeah, that definitely didn't sound perverted at all! XD

What do you guys think?

As I mention above she's one of the main characters of my manga project I'm coming up with! Though I planned from the start to call it "VirusChris" to refer to the main character, which is where my username is based from, of the story though I'm also thinking of "Virakin" or "Virakins" as another alternative for the title as it references to the species in my story as they're in the main focus. Though the plan was if I ever made a sequel to this series it would be called "VirusNova", which is sequel I kinda have plan to have if I wanted to expand the story more, which focuses on the new main character of the same title... so it's called the "Virus" series though if I want to the "Virakin" title I'll probably have to come up with a sub-title of it or called it "Virakin 2" though not a very good manga title.

I really changed up the story and settings more than what I originally wanted to do in the beginning, originally the setting was in a modern day world like ours but the world was different (there was a West and East America and North and South Japan) as the planet Earth was the 4th planet from the Sun and it had a different name and only humans existed on the planet with somewhat more advanced computers and gadgets but mostly the same. Chris Yuushi, the main character, is from a somewhat wealthy family (unlike me) with butler and maid who he treats as family and dislikes being called "Master Chris" or "Young Master Yuushi" and his parents are away on business though he's dad is there at the start before he leaves.

Now what I changed the old one to a new setting that the world or planet is called "Magleutix" (pronounced as Ma-g-lou-tix, the "Ma" like the first part of Mana) and the world is inhabited by Humans, Elves, and Youkai as they all live in peaceful co-existence with each other as there are many Half-Human, Half-Elf, and Half-Youkai people walking around as well though they're some crimes still. The main city has a giant tree in the middle of it but the buildings look sorted like ours but most of the city is like in a giant Elven forest with an Oni Kingdom nearby it to protect it.

The main character, Chris Yuushi, is more or less a normal boy living a normal life but he sadly gets picked on but it doesn't bother him as he's always cheerful and looks on the bright side of things and does have a few friends, including an elf girl named Iris Levair and an Oni princess Kami (I kept on forgetting the rest of her name but all her family members have "Kami" as their first part). However they're simply friends as Ami Rozu is Chris' love interest. He does have a butler and maid still by they live to serve as repayment for Chris' parents saving them by some sort of incident and his father is still there in the beginning giving him parting words and leaving on business.

At the very start of the story the Nazo Virus, a Virakin's basic or original form, soars through the night sky looking for its "compatible host" and mentions almost locating it and flies off with the scene switches to a group watching it as the group's leader asks his two officers to go and retrieve it. Then it switches over to the city and then the school with the main character is as it's letting the students go home.

I'm still a little unsure about how Chris comes in contact with the Nazo Virus and merges with it, but it involves him getting wounded badly (not fatally though) and the Nazo Virus asking him if it wants to merge with it as it will grant him powers but it also mentions about the dangers with getting involved with it and consequences of using its power but still says the choice is his if he wants to or not. Though Chris understands and merges with it to becomes a Virakin, and after that the two who were sent after it begin to fight with Chris... which ends with Chris being defeated after putting up a good fight though he's lack of experience and his unable to control his powers yet didn't play in his favor as the two proceed to capture and the first chapter ends there. However I'm unsure if I want to leave it there or have Vincent Dirge, another Virakin, appear and stand in front of the two other Virakin from capturing Chris.

The Virus part of the name is a honorific like the Japanese with "-kun", "-chan", and "-san" but is added to the front of the name of the person. Also Virus and Chris sort of rhyme together (Japanese is Uirusu Kurisu) so he's nicknamed or simply called "Virus" from short.

What do you think? Do you think it has potential to become a great manga story? I trying to capture the same kind of action of Dragon Ball Z as it's one of many different sources to inspire me to create this manga series I have planned out, though I'm trying to add my own kind of flair to it. Though it's an original English manga series is going to be written and read as Right-to-Left just like the regular Japanese ones as a manga is meant to be read that way and I want to draw it that way. It's my own story and that's how I want it to be like.

Though I'm unsure if I want to add a little sister for him, who is going to be called Arianna Yuushi and is 2 years younger than Chris, a playfully bubbly girl but I hardly have no story important plots for her though I could make so up for her.

I like her bangs now that they don't stick out as much.  They look more like they curl under rather than being balls.

And as for the second sketch of her... Go ahead, draw her boobs!  Nothing wrong with drawing your characters completely naked in a non-pornographic anatomical study way!  I draw lots of my characters naked.

Thank you ladies for your replies! And I'm glad you like Ami's bangs now, I like them more than too as they look more natural and less forced than the old ones. Well I guess I could do that next time, I need to practice human anatomy anyway... so does anyone like a busty pink-haired tsundere who is also a kickass heroine? She's not the type to sit back on the side lines doing nothing, she takes the fight right to her opponents and she's super strong too. She's not afraid if someone way stronger than her too, anyone who messes with her friends (or any super-power female aiming for Chris, though she'll deny it) will get their butt handed to them.

And I guess everyone skipped the text under the pictures mention my manga project concept... oh well, then again IT was a long of information there.

I'm going to try some digitally art next, but I need to become more accustom to the Tablet it's still a little weird to use it as I barely use it. I also got Paint Tool SAI so let's see what I can make in that program with my Tablet.

What type of tablet do you have?  Have you messed with the preferences and set its pressure sensitivity, yet?  When I first got my tablet, I spent a while setting it up until it felt like my pens and pencils.

A Wacom Bamboo Tablet, I did miss with the preferences and pressure sensitivity before when I got it but I haven't used it in MONTHS! So I kinda forgot how to set it again... :P

Well time to experiment again.

My brother has a Wacom Bamboo, it's quite nice.  I've used it off and on (I have a Graphire), I like the pressure sensitivity and the smoothness of the active drawing surface.  You should play around with your tablet some more; once you get the hang of it, you're gonna love it.

Well I'm looking for setups for the Wacom Bamboo to get a good feeling to it, it's still a little uncomfortable to use but I'm starting to get better with it. Still haven't figure out that "feeling" or smoothness to get a good sketch look going as I'm going to draw my character "Chris Corona" from scratch starting with the head and from there the whole body and I'm going to digitally color him in using Paint Tool SAI which is what I'm using to draw him right now.

Setting it second-to-last on the Firm Tip Pressure as I only have two tabs, Pen and Tablet. I got it a few years back for Christmas.

Still haven't familiarize myself with the program, but looking at online tutorial should help! ^_^
Any other suggestions?

I use Photoshop for my stuff, haven't tried Paint Tool SAI.  Basically, I treat my digital stuff the same as my traditional; the basic body structure is done on one layer in light blue, then the finalized linework on another layer in black, then the color layers between the linework and sketch layers.

I understand that part I've done that before, but I meant the smoothness of the drawn lines that appear like light strokes like you would do to make a sketch with light lines so you can erase the details later or the guidelines before you finish your work. That's the part I see other people doing in their tutorials and I'm not sure how they do it or maybe it's the video quality.

Like this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFseEicvbqo

At the beginning where the person draws Soft and Hard for the Pencil types in SAI.

So I'm updating my Tablet's Driver to see if it will improve my stroke pressures... since I haven't updated my Tablet ever since I got it. :P

Might just be a simple adjustment of the line width and opacity.  And keeping the sketch layer separate for ease of removal later.

Chris Corona - DBZ Style:

With all the news on the new Dragon Ball Z game, Ultimate Tenkaichi, I can't help being in a DBZ mood and the Character Creation
mode for UT has got my creative juices flowing!

This is my original character Chris Corona, for my own original manga series, who I decided to draw in the drawing style of Dragon Ball
Z or normally the "Akira Toriyama" art style. And I got to update Chris' hair a bit!

His hair isn't as crazy as the rest of the DBZ cast, but it's what I like and it fits him. This is actually my first time using the DBZ style
of drawing to draw my character so I'm a little unused to this style a bit, but I think he came out great!
Honestly I prefer a much smaller and leaner build than the bulky muscles, however I can't seem to find any tutorial on drawing a leaner
build for a DBZ character like Teen Gohan which is the kind of muscle build I want for my dude.

Below him is his Gi outfit I design which is a Red vest with a black t-shirt underneath and a black sash, and the rest of the outfit which
the pants (like Goku's) is dark blue and black boots with white lines. He also ways a pair of fingerless black gloves or black wristbands.

Plus this is what to create in the DBZ: UT Character Creation mode and my Saiyan hero for Hero Mode, complete with his own Saiyan tail!
And I did some DBZ eyes on the side to see if I can get the style down and find the right pair of eyes for his jolly friendly self.

What do you guys think? I see a few errors with the body build, a little too big and the proportions are off, and it could use some improvements,
but I like to hear your feedback on the drawing!

Vira-vo Language (Language of the Virakin):

This is the language of the Virakin for their writing system called "Vira-vo", and I use it in my RPG project series "The Legendary Heroes" and my
manga project "VirusChris/Virakins". I made this a few years back, but I never got around to uploading it as you can see from the crumbling and
old paper it is now in the scan. I might go around updating it.

o/ You can adjust the 'firmness' of the tablet sensitivity in the tablet settings. For beginners, making it more firm and using a smaller brush can help them, but I like mine rather light.

PS: You got the Toriyama style down pretty well and the hair/character design fits. Oh and the runes are pretty cute.

Well problem is I updated the drivers on it and so lost that 'simple' Tablet Settings and I cannot change or find the firm to softness settings for the tablet sensitivity for peeves me off since I thought I would get the same type of settings I saw before on YouTube or website with the same simple settings but with more tabs. I get something entire differently and I can't seem to revert back to what I originally had!

So now I'm at a lose, if you want I'll show you what the 'new' tablet settings look like now.

EDIT: Here it is... and I believe this is the new 'firm and softness' settings for it.

Looks a little over-complicated, don't you think?

And thank you for the comment on the DBZ-style drawing! Going to be a while before I can make a full body drawing in the style and colored in!

That's tablet PC settings. The actual Wacom tablet settings should still be in your program files. Go to Start -> Programs -> Tablet Settings. You've installed the latest Wacom Bamboo tablet driver from Wacom, right?

Oh but you might want to disable right click and flicks. In Pen and Input devices, Flicks, untick 'Use flicks etc etc'. Then go to the 'Pen Options', Press and Hold, Settings, Until 'Enable press and hold etc...'

You seem pretty good at copying, I don't think you'll have much trouble~

For some reason my normal "Tablet Settings" are gone but I can still use my Tablet. I did went to the official Wacom website to update drivers but I wasn't really sure what type of Bamboo Wacom Tablet I have since it's sort of old, maybe two to three years old. Unless there's only one type of Bamboo Tablet, I'm at a lose here.

And thank you for the flicks and right click! It was driving me crazy how holding down my pen on the tablet causing it to copy or mess up my drawing line when doodling in Paint or any other Photo Editing software.

Go find your tablet box. Or flip the thing over and read what model it is from the bottom. Though, I bet the drivers for all bamboo tablets are the same. Don't take my word for it though, take the effort to flip your tablet over to be sure.

Windows 7 comes with some basic Tablet drivers so you probably can just plug and play but you really should get the Wacom ones.

Model is: MTE-450A

And I'm using Vista... I dislike what Windows 7 did to Paint as I like the Vista version of MS Paint, and I don't even have the money or disk to install Windows 7 on my computer anyway.

That's just a regular Bamboo tablet. Go to the Wacom website and get the driver for Bamboo.

Erm well, Vista and 7 look similar and have similar functions, it just so happens that 7 works a whole lot better.

IIRC you can copy MSPaint over if you miss it that much lol.
