Just beat the main story. Seriously, one of the best ending to a game ever, especially in the credits!

I'm about halfway through the main story, but I'm absolutely loving it so far. Would've been further in the story, if not for trying to complete the side missions. I like the challenge mode too, and especially that side scrolling train stage; it feels so old-school.

Just 100%ed the whole game after a 2-day marathon.

Is it me, or is the story a clusterfuck to anyone not Batman-versed?

Saw this on GBATemp.
Quote from: Chikaku-chan

Quote
In the first week of sales of the latest game of the Batman series, Batman: Arkham City has sold 2 million copies out of the 4.2 million of the total copies that had been shipped.
The LA Times are stating that these figures do not compare Batman: Arkham City to record holders like Call of Duty however this latest Batman game is on track to outsell the previous one ‘ Arkham Asylum ‘ which sold 4.3 million copies in total where as Arkham City has already shipped out 4.6 million copies.
Rocksteady game director Sefton Hill, says ” The true test for any game is what the players think and we have been thrilled by their reaction to Batman: Arkham City, The team at Rocksteady put every ounce of effort into making the best Batman experience we possibly could, so we are overwhelmed by the incredible feedback from the community.”
These are only the sales figures for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 version, as the PC version of Batman: Arkham City comes out in November.

Also, in case you hadn't heard, Yahoo! Games gave the game a 6 out of 5. Must be rather awesome then. XD

Well, he IS the goddamn Batman.

Why should a little thing like max score matter? He's Batman, he can soar above that and MAKE HIS OWN!

The game certainly has a ton of strengths, but it has weak points too. The story doesn't seem as good as Arkham Asylum's was, the twist is kind of a disappointment, much of the environment ambience is gone because it's no longer as self-contained, and because it's a prison to begin with, the way Batman restrains and takes out some of the villains, is kinda... well, it feels like he's dealing with them in terms of morality and things that stand in his way, so the whole "whose side is everyone on" sensibilities are lost. One of the things about Joker in the first game, is that as the main villain, he had a constant presence in the game, manipulating everything so it all went perfectly. In this narrative, we just deal with stuff as it comes, and there is no "main villain". Heck, some villains just show up for 5 minutes and that's it. They shoved too much stuff in there.

...EVERYTHING else is 5-star quality. From the way you can "fly" in the game by taking advantage of air currents and grapple points to never touch the ground, the way the new gadgets work, the way the game is harder and you need to be stealthier, the new boss battles... it really is something. Amazing game, glad to have played it, wish there was more.

More screens

There's no actual footage yet

- The next Batman game is called Batman: Arkham Origins, and it'll be out October 25 for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. It's a prequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

- Warner Bros. Montreal is making the game, taking the mantle from Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind the critically-acclaimed first two.

- The game's plot involves eight of the world's deadliest assassins coming to Gotham City on Christmas Eve. Their target: Batman, of course. The game takes place on the streets of Gotham

And last but not least:

There's also a handheld spin-off called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for 3DS and Vita, a 2.5-D Metroid-style game developed by Armature Studios, the development house led by ex-Retro staffers who worked on Metroid Prime.

Since it's not Rocksteady, I'm not hyped up yet. Not until we find out more about this.

I'm not sure I want to trust the people who were going to develop that shitty looking MMX Reboot.

That being said I'm not sure if Arkham Origins will be great either. I mean I wasn't so thrilled with City after how great Asylum was.

Right now I just want to see videos from both games. I'm already betting that the portable game will look like crap visually, but if it's actually fun, then who cares.

Edit: The blackgate screens are in my link. Looks alright.

Apparently, they're aiming for a young person to voice Bats because it's his "early years" or something.

... That does not sit well with me.

Roger Craig Smith to voice Batman and Troy Baker as the voice of Joker confirmed for Arkham Origins

This will be interesting, I can't really picture Troy as the Joker but someone who saw the preview commented on how Troy nailed Hamill's voice as Joker. We shall see.

Behold the magnificence.

It's cool that we finally get to see how Oracle looks like in this series.

Also, the city will be 5x bigger than that of Arkham City.

Definitely looking forward to it. Although I still have yet to play Origins and Blackgate.

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

My only 'complaint' is the next-gen only limitation, but hey, I gotta get a PS4 eventually for a number of games. Since i'd rather play this on a console than a PC, that's just another on the growing laundry list.  :P

Arkham Knight is Joker. Calling it now.

Also, C'mon Rocksteady, Arkham Beyond when.
Since i'd rather play this on a console than a PC,
Why would you want that

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Why would you want that

I may have a controller for my PC but it's third-party low quality crap. I'd rather play a beat-em-up or something like the Arkham series on a console, TV and with a genuinely good controller out of preference, than struggle with keyboard and mouse or the crappy controller and likely struggle with computer issues that the next-gen games are bound to bring if I don't upgrade soon.

5 times bigger than Arkham City? Ehh... more empty space to travel with like 1000 collectibles to pick up... goody.

Arkham Knight is a dumb name for a character, too.
