Mine kept on jumping from subject to subject.

Reminds me of an older learning AI called MegaHAL who would gather information from conversations, then butcher it in its attempt to emulate human communication, creating what can only be described as artificial insanity.

Cleverbot is a lot more coherent than MegaHAL tended to be. It tried to pull the Turing test extra credit from XKCD on me, likely parroting a user who insisted that the bot was a bot, but I suppose that just indicates how well it learns. Either that, or it's a product of how many people have been communicating with it.


I managed to have a nice long, boring conversation with the machine. I'm going to have to try feeding it some classic MegaHAL quotes to see how it responds.



... There's an idea... Get two bots to talk to one another...
