Info on the mission modes
Story Mission
In story mission there are specific scenarios for each character. The basic scenario for the missions is set, but some of the characters that appear are random. Each time you play you can enjoy a slightly different experience as different characters will appear.
Free Mission
Free missions are just for the fun of fighting. There is also a "training mode" tutorial for learning the controls. Come here first to learn how to fight.
Friendship Mission
The pilots that deploy with you in friendship missions will increase your friendship level with them if you keep them alive. The enemies you face here will lower their friendship level with you. This is where you go to improve those bad relationships. There are lots of missions that you can't play until you get your friendship level up so make good use of this mode. There is also a status screen to monitor friendship levels.
Collection Mission
In the game you collect the parts of destroyed enemies. Once you have the body and left & right legs and arms you can complete your machine. Missions feature nothing but certain enemies so you can easily hunt for specific parts you are missing. For example, there is one mission with only Zaku type enemies. The more enemies you defeat the more likely it is to receive parts. Aim to complete all machines.
License Mission
For the non-mass production mobile suits a license is required to use them. Collect parts and complete your machines. Then clear the license mission to use them. If you friendship level is poor with the pilots connected to certain machines you cannot do those license missions.
Extra Mission
These are extremely special missions for you to enjoy. However, you have to clear some pretty difficult conditions to get them to appear.
