Secret wasn't discovered till now, almost 26 years later.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

The guy Landon Dyer worked on the port for the atari.

Not when you consider the same could happen here.
Sethkill specifically stated no one would  find it for a long time to come.
Lets hope that long time doesnt include more than 2 years.

Think about it this way though: 26 years ago, we didn't have the same kind of technology that we do now. Nowadays, we're able to rip apart a game's database and find out pretty much everything. That was pretty much the same case with Donkey Kong on the 2600. No one could have found that out because what was needed to crack it wasn't found out until recently due to the technology we have and the game being lost in the sea of time.

let's not forget that only the NES, N64 and gamecube versions of the original Donkey Kong were any good. >.>

i know the 64 and cube versions are unlockable versions of the arcade/nes version in DK64/animal crossing, shut up.

Great. Now how about you come up with a time traveling device, go into the future, bring back the technology needed to find the secret in MM9 into this time.

lol, like that will ever happen. I was just kidding about this anyway.XD

The longer it takes to find, the cooler it is.

The Donkey Kong easteregg clearly disproves that...

Plus its supposedly just a nugget, nothing special.

If I can find my god-damn DeLorean I'd be happy to do that :P

You're wrong when it comes to how cool hidden secrets are.

Plus its supposedly just a nugget, nothing special.
The value of the secret itself does not dictate how cool of a secret it is. It's combination of how well-hidden it is & how cool the secret itself is. Though, when the secret becomes disappointing enough, the entire easter egg becomes multitudes cooler because of awesome troll.

I saw one for 20k on Ebay recently.

When S-kill finally acknowledges what it is I'm probably gonna be really dissappointed.  Whatever it is, it can't be better than what's already been found.  Since I found the Donkey Kong "secret" pretty lame I'll probably find this one lame too.  All that trouble for .... nothing.  You know, if it isn't cool enough.  If it's awsome I'll eat my words.

But if it isn't cool enough everybody that freaked out & looked got trolled, hard. That would be hilarious IMO.

I wouldn't find it hillarious.  I'd just find it really stupid.  If it went on for a few weeks or months it'd be hillarious.  But it's been a year; it's just stupid now.

I don´t know if someone has noticed it but the lab where you can find Bass´ blueprints....could it be the lab from MM7 from the intro? You know, there are 4 capsules just like those of Freeze, Cloud, Junk and Burst Man...

They don't really look similar.  Even the capsules.  Meanwhile the MM4 link with Light's lab looks extremely similar.

Then again, there's nothing saying it has to be a good easter egg.  So it's possible.

It's been about a year.  That's longer than my definition of "soon enough".

Are the Japanese even looking?  I dunno if this "mystery" even reached them ... it was on the CoA forums, not CoJ.

You know what we need?  A comprehensive list of all guesses.  That's what we need.  Then people can be co-ordinated about it.
