LoL, you mean NERDS?
You don't have to be nerdy to be obsessive.  I consider sports fans who can rattle off stats from every player on their favorite team in the same vein as people who must rip (or have) every single bit of sprite data from a MM game.  Or people who follow all traces of their favorite celebrity.

Still, some franchises attract less obsessive people than others.

What does he mean by it'd be a secret we'd hate? Is it some sort of trap or enemy?

It means you'd hate it for obsessing over it.

Granted, but my point is that nerds are a super obsessive bunch by nature.  Those who play video games are...or use to be before the Wii/Rock Band...nerds, and thus naturally obsessive.

Then, by you're way of thinking, I think that the MM community draws more obsessive nerds than many other franchises.

Although I disagree with saying anyone in particular here's a nerd.  And I'm saying even the non-nerds among us would be unusually obsessive.

Haha, there we go!

And I disagree with you there.  I think every single member on this forum, even the ones who don't post, are nerds!  Call it a PB hunch!  8)

i won't deny it. i'm a nerd. i wear the title proudly.

here's a possibility i don't recall being thrown around: a hidden picture or message in one of the game's many black backgrounds. written in black, of course, so you can't see it.

i was thinking something simple like Keiji's signature. but those work.

In seriousness: Something hidden in the midway mode, maybe?  Not "too hard", but also not normal-level difficulty?

Even if these were hidden in game some how, wouldn't they be found in the dumped sprites/graphics area?

If it has ANYTHING to do with graphics (signatures, unused robots, unused sprites, etc.) they could somehow be found inside the files of the wad after dumping.
If memory serves, there were a few people who already dumped the files, and found nothing of the sort except a skate boarder robot.

Skater bot, a flying / falling squirrel, and more Fakeman and Protoman sprites than strictly nessasary, if you wanna list all of them.  None of them were it, though.  This seems like a stupid little trick that's happened upon.

In true id software fashion, level design makes for great writing.

Too bad you can't read the standard galactic alphabet, human.

oh god i miss some of their games.. ;_;

Pringer X

week old bump

I'm not sure as to all of the secrets that have been discovered just yet (a post in the link on the front page makes a mention of a good chunk), but I figured why not take a different route. Does the release date of the game in Japan/America on the Wii/PS3/360 have something to do with a character in game? If Dr. Wily's swiss account is the release date of MM1, couldn't something like that happen in reverse, like the release date be the month and day one of the characters was born? Someone also mentioned something about the music in the game and how some of them sound like others. As I thought about this, Splash Woman's stage has some parts that sound like part of the theme of Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Capcom just happens to be the company that made the Rescue Rangers game. What if the secret is more of a reference to a previous Capcom work? I mean, MMX 1 and 2 have moves from Street Fighter, MM7 has some references to Ghosts 'n Goblins, and Legends 2 has a few references like where you can see a MMX comic and a 'show' of the Classic series.

Pretty much, everything obvious and not obvious has already been said and ruled out.  Including that.

Flame

its quite simple really.
The secret is that there is a secret about a secret.

Where during this whole game, is Beat? (Noting suspicious "open icon" in weapons screen.)

Bag of Magic Food

Are you talking about that beta video where Beat was used in a boss battle?

Beat's in the store.

Here's something I found.  The placement of dots on Wily's castle matches Cossack's and MM7's castle.  I don't think I've seen this observation before, but .... I could be wrong.
