Well, that's the thing--they're always considered the bad guys to your character.

Sounds like Maverick talk to me!

I prefer the term, Freelance Wanderer.

Besides, I always wanted to play as Double, that would have been awesome.  8)

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Check it; Real Sigma Battle in X8 done in SFC instruments, and it rocks!

I still think MMX9 with SNES graphics, music, and whatnot would just be inappropriate, but oh man, this makes me appreciate X8's simpler, SNES-esque melodies more.

Like the Vile Battle.

It [tornado fang]ing sucks before 0:14 but after that it's cool.

Commander Shepard: *stares blankly at a video of scantily clad asari dancers* ...What kind of hotel is this?
Liara T'Soni: It is a luxury resort with an... exotic edge.  Azure is slang for a part of the asari body in some places on Illium.
Shepard: Where?
Liara: The lower reaches, near the bottom.
Shepard: I meant, "where on the asari body?"
Liara: So did I.

Slash Man

I definately think X 9 should be the last because it was supposed to end at X 5, and the only way they can do that right is have Inafune in charge of it.
As for whether or not SNES aspects should be used in it, I'm basically not in favor. Music should be almost exactly like X-X 3, but improved quality (for some reason, I didn't like the remixes for Maverick Hunter X). A platformer would be a nice touch, but I think it can go well either way.

Mega Man 9 - Plug Man Stage (with SNES Mega Man X2 instruments)

It just sounds so freaking awesome! :O

Awesome. Simply awesome, same goes for SigmaX8, and I agree with you Slashy, X9 should have a soundtrack similar or equal to those of X1-x3...

On a side note. I think X9 should have a brand new villain, cause I don't know about you guys/gals but I'm really getting tired of Sigma coming back from the dead...for the 100th time. It should be some one/thing new, intresting, sadistic, some one who tortures the very being of X and sometimes Zero in between their missions, some one who is a major arse. Who is this horrible dastardly fiend you ask...

None other then our own Dr.Light :O

That Plug Man stuff is pretty awesome. :0

Woah!  Where did this pic of the Hunters vs X8 Vile come from?  I've never seen its like!

As for the music, I have to say that the Plug Man remix is superior to the Sigma Battle, but both are pretty cool.

You know, I'm not sure who drew that pic. I see one of the search tags is "Artbox", if that helps.

Lemme see if I can find it on DA, by chance...

EDIT: Nope. Not on Google, either. One of those "Internet Best Kept Secrets", I suppose.

Flame

it came from some japanese Pixiv artist.
or something. browse the bleep thread. chances re youll find the artist.

This could very well be the case, yes!

You know what? The feedback on Mega Man 9 and Street Fighter IV is really shaping up to make the new gamers think Capcom is largely a nostalgia company.

So, Mega Man X9, which has had a history of being updated on the latest consoles, should probably maintain that instead of go SNES/16-Bit.

I'm going with updated Mega Man X9, but for the love of pete, make the music do what X8 did; apply newer instruments to the same catchy SNES-esque melodies.

Bag of Magic Food

But how will they update it any more than it already has been?  I mean, they already took the games into 3D.  Maybe I'm just skeptical because I haven't played enough new games.

Designs, if you mean graphically.
Don't know what they could do to make use of the processing power though... a megaman enemy can only be so smart before it becomes a huge pain in the ass.

We've already gotten to that point. MMLegends' and some of MMZ/ZX's enemies have been uncharacteristically annoying.

Align

I suppose they could throw many MANY enemies at us instead of smarter ones. Which we can blast through with a single charge shot.
