King Reaper

Hello everyone. It's me, King Reaper, back from the dead to say...

Holy [tornado fang]ing [parasitic bomb] I never thought we'd see another Mega Man game. I had lost hope.
...what?

I DIDN'T SEE ANY NEW DESIGNS FOR BLUES, THEREFORE I AM DISPLEASED WITH THIS ANNOUNCEMENT OF A BRAND NEW CLASSIC MEGAMAN GAME WITH UPDATED DESIGNS AND GRAPHICS WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR AND ALL I REALLY WANTED FROM THIS 30TH ANNIVERSARY STREAM!!

But it's kinda cool I guess.

Sakura Leic

Now we need for this to do well as well as the X games re-release and we can maybe dare to hope for a Megaman X9.

Legacy collection for Switch hits Spring, X games in the summer, and MM11 probably later than that most likely winter.

Gameinformer is also gonna do month long Megaman coverage.

Protoman Blues

Probably good that they're definitely putting everything on the Switch. That seems like the most viable market.

Sakura Leic

Yeah......now all we need is the Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch.

Welcome back Blue man.

Indeed!!

Superjustinbros

Just coming by to say I'm both super happy and excited MM11 is now a real, official thing. And the art/graphics style looks super fun~

I feel like I'm in 2008 again, back when MM9 was announced.

Splashman

Whaddya know, this old account still works.

My children, you're all grown up now. I pass the baton to you and trust you to rip the OST for this game good and well.

Looks really good. The worst thing is the game is one or close to one year from release and apparently they will share new info in the summer. A little more waiting won't kill anyone after 7 years I guess.

DTHVaren

I'm personally happy to see Mega Man finally return after 10 years of absence. Good to see you again, Blue Bomber. Hope you stay with us for a loooonng time. Also if there is a character in Mega Man 11 I want to return, It'd be Fish Man Bass.

Flame

Ahhh, all these returning (figurative) faces.

Feels good. Just like the good ol' days.

if anyone's interested, there's already scans of the gameinformer article.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

VirusChris

What a pleasant surprise! I love the cel-shading design they went with for Mega Man 11 and NOT another old school SNES design again (nothing wrong with it) and it really fits so well with the MM series.

Now if Mighty Number 9 utilized the cel-shading design it would've look WAY better.

Though the animation is stiff with the running, though I suppose they wanted to show up what they got for the game right now. Also is that an English Voice Actor for Mega Man for when he grunts and fires? Sounds kinda... deep for a kid-like character.

Anyway I'm REALLY looking forward to this! Like with Sonic Mania I'm getting it on the Switch as well!

Welcome back, old friend, welcome back indeed.

Now let's get X9 and ZX3 to come out next!

Well, yeah!

After all, the only alternatives for me are bitching about 3D Sonic and posting Smash fan movelists.  8D

Protoman Blues

Haha, I do miss our immense Smash movelist thread. Goooood times.

Sakura posted this in the Discord, so I'll share it here too

Got a little more info on the game from Gameinformer reported by various sources.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/12/details_emerge_on_mega_man_11_difficulty_options_a_weapon_wheel_and_more

There'll be four difficulty options. "Normal" will be as expected, but "Superhero" should challenge skilful veterans.

The Robot Masters are former allies of Dr. Light, and this one will allow you to tackle all eight from the start in any order. That's the norm that many are used to, but don't forget that some Mega Man games have split these stages into a couple of tiers, so it's nice to have all eight as targets from the get-go.

There'll be a weapon wheel applied to the right stick, which could mean quick switches between them if you remember which is assigned to each direction. Also, as you can see in the trailer the slide move is back, but the final controls for that aren't yet decided.

The gears seen under the health bar in the trailer and screens relate to "an entirely new gameplay mechanic that will impact Mega Man's moment-to-moment action". Not much more is said on that, but we get a glimpse of it right at the end of the trailer when Mega Man is surrounded by some sort of destructive field, with the gears spinning away in the top left.
