No. If you tap the Fox Amiibo, it unlocks classic Arwing mode.

New Paper Mario for the Wii U, new Kirby for the 3DS, new Rhythm Heaven (along with a port of the original), SNES games coming to 3DS Virtual Console, Monster Hunter X being ported over, Azure Striker Gunvolt on sale to help prepare for the next one. That's about it. Some more Metroid Prime: Federation Force info, more Splatoon & Super Mario Maker updates.

Speaking of Amiibos... I saw a Mewtwo Amiibo at my local Gamestop and ALMOST bought it. But since I have no WiiU, it'd just look pretty on my shelf until Erma knocks it down.

Which begs the question... if it's there next time I'm at Gamestop, should I get it anyway?

The new Paper Mario doesn't really pique my interest, I'm hoping it's better than Sticker Star, or at the very least has a better plot, but I still miss a game like the first 2 Paper Marios, or at the very least Super Paper Mario. New Kirby has me hyped, I'm going to probably get Monster Hunter X someday, and I'm so excited for SNES games on the 3DS Virtual Console.

Yeah I'd say do it, if they make some content that utilizes the Pokemon Amiibo for the 3DS all you need to do is get a peripheral to use it.

Well it's probably because of that better processor, unfortunately. I mean as a New 3DS owner it makes me happy my purchase is sweeter, but I understand that a lot of people who don't have a New 3DS will be disappointed. At least my bro will be happy, and I get portable Earthbound too since it's going to be one of the first games released.

If we get GBA games too down the line that would be awesome too, even though that's just going to put more salt into the wound of non New 3DS owners.

Well my older brother's unfortunately bummed if there's any SNES games that piques his interest since he has the A Link Between Worlds version of the original 3DS XL. Speaking SNES games, even through I'm playing a DS port of it, I seriously can't put Chrono Trigger down ~~unless I need to charge my DS's ailing battery~~. It has me hooked.
