To be perfectly honest, while I read most of the Legion, it was never really that good. Lol. The only time I legit thought it was good was Mark Waid's run.

Pyro

You need to be a bit more specific considering the Legion rather--gnarled history. I mean there is the Preboot Legion, "Five Years Later" Legion, SW6 "Legionnaires", Postboot Legion (which Waid was involved in), Threeboot (the version Waid is best known for), and Retroboot.

Quality generally varies. My favourite run is the Abnett/Lanning "DnA" Legion with parts of the early reboot Legion, the SW6 Legion, and most of the Levitz preboot run including Great Darkness. My view on Waid's Threeboot is a tepid one; I just did not find it that interesting compared to the previous run.

Protoman Blues

I loved the "Eat it, Grandpa!" era of the Legion. The 2004 reboot. I loved Brainiac-5, "Micro Lad" and other stuff. That was my favorite run.

Pyro

I wanted to like it, but it leaned a little heavy on the Silver Age nostalgia with an Adventure-era roster, but edgier. Though some on my animosity for that incarnation because it jettisoned some of my favourite postboot Legionnaires like XS (as I am a huge fan of the Flash family), Andromeda, and Gates.
We don't actually know if Wendy has feelings for Dipper other than friendship in the first place. Again, that scene you posted was about Dipper's realization, not Wendy thinking he was cute for the literal seconds she saw Dipper as a kindergartner. I mean, the crush you had was someone in your class, someone you'd most likely see a lot of, and not some random teenager you saw one time while riding your big wheel through town.

True, that one moment wouldn't be enough for a crush. I'll give you that.

Okay, here was my rationale. When I first saw that episode, I assumed Alex Hirsch was conveying that they were meant for each other. Reason being that it would not be the first time a cartoon has had one-sided attraction in the beginning (Helga's feelings for Arnold), but uses hints throughout the show that point to them having a future together (Arnold subconsciously likes Helga, but is unable to return feelings because she is a bully).

In this case, it would be Wendy subconsciously liking Dipper and refusing to see it due to his age.

So essentially, I was looking at this as another Hey Arnold scenario.

Yes, Avatar did have a relationship between the two. But there are significant differences between Avatar and Gravity Falls.

1. Gravity Falls, for all its weirdness, is set in the modern era. Avatar is set a good 200 years in the past of their world, so certain things are less awkward back then. This is not all that important, since it's a cartoon, but still certain things are different.

2. The major difference between Aang & Katara vs. Dipper & Wendy is that Katara also had feelings for Aang. There was mutual awkwardness between the two of them at times because they were attracted to one another. With Wendy & Dipper, it was pretty one-sided throughout the show. I think this is the primary factor where I think you and I disagree on the subject. I don't believe Wendy had any kind of romantic feelings for Dipper and Dipper realized that too, which is shown in the Weirdmageddon episodes, and not just the "You can't force someone to love you" speech to Gideon. The most poignant scene regarding Wendy & Dipper is when he's in Mabel's bubble prison. When the fake Wendy tries and almost succeeds in tempting Dipper to remain, it's the realization that the real Wendy doesn't have romantic feelings for him that makes him realize that she's not real. She's the fantasy. She's what Dipper has always wanted Wendy to say to him. "If you were just a little older, you'd be my dream guy!"

Dipper changed but Wendy didn't. He didn't "ruin" what he had with Wendy because friendship was all they ever really had. Without mutual attraction, that's all their relationship really was.
Having said all of that...
If I WERE to ship anyone, it'd be Dipper & Pacifica!  8D

1. Um, what do you mean "things are less awkward"? The Aang Gang didn't behave any differently than other fictional child characters. It's a radically different setting, yes, but it's not like their mannerisms and way of thinking is foreign. Aang went to that Fire Nation academy when he was blending in. There was recess, school crushes, bullies and the classes there were very similar to modern times, sans the "worshiping the Fire Lord" (which is actually more reminiscent of Nazi Germany, if anything).

But anyway, I'm getting besides the point. Boy likes a girl. Girl likes a boy... There's nothing more to it. Any nervousness or awkwardness from crushes is true to both series.

2. And this is where I direct your attention to my first spoiler, on how I assumed this was mirroring topics like Hey Arnold. I felt there was potential for a future relationship, and Alex easily could have made it that way. I mean, I don't even know what the hell Wendy saw in Robbie, so Dipper sure as [parasitic bomb] wouldn't be an impossible boyfriend. At least he's done awesome heroic acts.

In regards to Fake Wendy, you do make a good point. Though I didn't take it as "Wendy would never say that to Dipper" but more of "they're only friends right now, so it's suspicious to confess suddenly."

Now that the series is over, Alex clearly meant it by the former. Dammit.

Yes! I think Dipper and Pacifica would make a wonderful couple.

I'm upset that Dipper didn't get ANYONE at all. Even Mabel dated a freaking merman.
I tried to put in earrings.  Got them in my right ear.  Left ear needs to be reopened.  Not looking forward to stabbing my ear with a pin.
1. By certain things, I meant age. 200 years ago, I feel like that kind of childhood romance is less awkward. It's a very minor point, and you're right. Their mannerisms and such were essentially the same.

2. Again, fair enough with the Hey Arnold! thought. Like I said, it was just a difference of what we saw. As for Wendy and Robbie, I think that's just a classic example of teens experimenting. The whole "bad boy" phase or dating an outsider type of thing.
Quote
Yes! I think Dipper and Pacifica would make a wonderful couple.
They would, yeah. They connect very well.

Hahaha, and I think that's about as much shipping talk as I can do!  8D
Phi
Now that I think about it, you're right. It's most likely a bad boy phase. But yeah, you were spot on with the show's vision of Dipper and Wendy's relationship.

Bah, Alex should have totally listened to tumblr and paired him together with Pacifica. At least there's always fanart, I guess. XD
Ugh I remember when I had to do that because I didn't wear my starter earrings long enough.

Also is anyone here interested in that Miitomo App because pre registration starts now.

What I'm planning to do is use a sewing needle and just push the whole thing through to the other side.  Just need to work up the guts to do it.  I have beer.  Maybe I should booze up.

Sakura Leic

Well I hope you don't miss somehow, I assume you're going to apply some sanitizer or alcohol of some sort on the needle?
Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

Quickman

Yup. I don't think I'll miss, as the hole is only partially closed.  I can get an earring halfway through.  Just need to push it all the way through.

Be lucky it's just mostly skin.  But yeah normally it's done with some needle pincer gun thing.  Or at least that's how mine went, I seem to remember the use of a hot needle in the Parent Trap with Lindsey Lohan.

Yeah I'd say maybe only half a can at most?  Though I don't drink so I don't really know.

Quickman

I'll just grit my teeth and do it.  Just not tonight.  I've reopened holes before.  It's a matter of just shoving the earring through really hard.

Sakura Leic

Yeah if the earring end is sharp enough, like my afore mentioned starter earrings, it should work.
Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

Quickman

Just did it.  I numbed my earlobe with an ice pack and shoved a sewing needle through the back.  Pulled it all the way through, then took some larger earrings and slathered them with Neosporin and shoved them through both the front and the back to widen and disinfect the hole.

My ear's red and kinda hurts, but it's done.

Yeesh didn't expect the needle going all the way through, but at least it's done.
