So I downloaded a demo of Legend of Legacy, which is a really dumb name for a game by the way, and I have to say I like it so far. It's a standard JRPG made by Atlus though I haven't run into any standard Atlus bullshit just yet. Formations also seem to be the main focus of the battle system as well as other things like attacking with certain weapons. Also it seems there's no levels and your stats go up randomly as well as learning moves randomly too. It's kind of like FF2 in a way, though I don't know how it works out since there's still stuff I have seen about the mechanics just yet.
The graphics are amazing, it's like Bravely Default but way better and everything is in 3D instead of having 2 painted backgrounds. Also trees pop up everywhere you move in the forest, and I mean everywhere. It's a bit disorienting sometimes, which doesn't help when the enemies are on screen and chase you down relentlessly. Musics is interesting, lots of the kind of music you expect in a medieval fantasy setting but also has techno sound effects thrown in as well.
However I noticed I couldn't pause while in the dungeon, I hope it's not the same for the full game. Story seems interesting but I'll have to judge what it's really like when the full game comes out. Also one of the Characters looks like Saber and acts nearly the same, all business, doesn't take bulshit and side tracking for personal reasons, but isn't heartless and willing to work in a group.
Overall it seems interesting, however the demo lets you choose 7 characters. I hope I can go through everyone before the tries expire. I mean I have 30 tries but I still find it ridiculous that they limit the tries of a demo and if I exceed them I can't transfer anything to the full game.
But seriously the name of the game is really stupid sounding even if it ties into the center of the plot, as least far as I've seen with the demo before being fully fleshed out in the full game.
EDIT: Okay the game is a spiritual successor to the SaGa games, that explains the game mechanics a lot better.
EDIT 2: So I read some stuff and found that the difficultly ala Atlus comes from random Mini Bosses.....that function like F.O.Es......god help us all.
