Curious to see if we'll be seeing anything about a potential Dishonored 2. Greatly enjoyed the first one.

The Bethesda conference has started.

Remember to turn off the chat if it gets too laggy.

Holy [tornado fang], Fallout 4 looks amazing. The combat looks fun as hell, and the crafting system... I think I've found my new time sink.

I'll probably be sinking a good number of hours into Fallout 4. I might wait to grab it, but it's looking like a good time.

How about that Doom 4.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=galOoNQ483Q
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyqlLpCAQ7o

mite b cool.

at least it looks like it's having fun with itself. The revenant slapping Doomguy's [parasitic bomb] with his own arm was a pretty amusing death.

it seemed to me like the guy was deliberately moving slowly.

overall, not too bad. im not a fan of the weaponwheel+slowdown, but thats basically needed for consoles. the enemies all dropping health+ammo isnt my thing, but on the other hand, holy [tornado fang], no reloading! No regenerating health!

Also, mod support, so anything that I dont like, will probably be modded out by likeminded folks who didnt like it.

Yeah, not feeling Doom 4- er I mean just DOOM because clearly the lore of Doom is too deep to get into and the series needs a reboot.

It just looks like every other FPS on the market right now. Somebody pretty eloquently called it Halo with Demons and honestly if it had Regenerating health it would be exactly that. Where's the kickass soundtrack? The running and gunning? I heard the classic Door SFX but that's been in the stock SFX library since forever now.

That bit with the chainsaw was amaaaaaazing though

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

There's still a decent bit of classic styled shooters popping up now and then so nothing really strikes out to me with this one, regardless of name. I'm sure the PC version will have FOV adjustment and weapons bound to number keys at least.

Yeah, nothing about this screamed doom to me.

It just sort of wimpered out a "Modern FPS with Modern FPS stuff".

Meh. I'm mostly just curious on what new things Nintendo has to bring to the table at this point. Sony's conference might be worth checking out but the others just don't even really do anything to grab my attention.

I'm mostly curious about Nintendo and Square, especially with that trailer Square released for it.

Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

I sincerely disagree. FPS have been somewhat stale for years now, with very few gems in the sea of [parasitic bomb].

That bit with the chainsaw was amaaaaaazing though
eh, im not sold on that particularly because the chainsaw looks like it's simply a "press x to instant kill" takedown, instead of an actual weapon that requires keeping it on the enemy to kill them.

i'm really not seeing what's so modern about it. there seems to be some actual level design going on in the UAC base, the trailer and multiplayer reveal show actual speed, there is no stamina or regenerating health, and absolutely no reloading. if anything, "modern FPS with classic FPS stuff", which is fine with me, considering it could have been far worse.

That and some of the older classics like Shadow Warrior, Unreal, and Quake are still around for people to play. Heck, you can get the original DOS version of Shadow Warrior on Steam for free if you want.

the enemies all dropping health+ammo isnt my thing, but on the other hand, holy [tornado fang], no reloading! No regenerating health!
To be fair, some of the zombie enemies in the older Doom games like the shotgun and chaingun zombie dropped whatever weapon they had and that can be used to fill your ammo reserves.

The benchmark is "can we do better than DNF?"

DNF = Duke Nukem: Forever, a.k.a. 12 years of disappointment by some.

I sincerely disagree. FPS have been somewhat stale for years now, with very few gems in the sea of [parasitic bomb].

I mostly mean in the sense that it appeals to me as much as a modern FPS. As in not really at all.

No Stamina or Regen health, okay. But it doesn't look to be nearly as fast as Classic Doom, things look scripted (like the Chainsaw as you said) and it just doesn't have the same atmosphere or feel to it.

I'm not into FPSs so what is DNF?

Duke Nukem Forever. A game that was (supposed to have been) made at the end of the classic FPS era but somehow languished in development for YEARS because of dumb decisions. Then it came out and wasn't very good.

Ah yeah Duke Nukem Forever.  I only saw 5 minutes of it and regretted every minute of it.

Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection
