The Mana-Verse

(My question now is would Riagan mistake that for a Excadrill.)

[I'm still sorta figuring out what variety of daemon it is, aside from an earth-elemental greater daemon.]

Sitting under the boarding ramp, the Professor placed both hands flat on the ground to better feel the vibrations.  They increased in intensity, and he fled from his hiding spot, arms flailing. "Flee!  Flee!  Something's coming!  Get out of the way!  Get out of the way!"

Running to a safe distance, he threw himself on the ground and covered his head with his hood and arms.

"I don't like this, it feels like something is moving....and it's bigger than the Dugtrios in the forest." Sakura stated.

[Sapphire Knight]

Soon, the ground started cracking as it got pushed upwards... A very wide area of the ground. Flames erupted from the cracks just before a massive creature burst from the ground, with thick, matted, dark brown fur, bright red skin on it's exposed paws, massive claws and fangs... And there was someone wedging it's mouth open with their body.

[It's a giant rat, for the record.]

"Is that....a rat?" Sakura questioned "And it's eating someone?"

[Quickman]

Scrambling over the crumbling and collapsing ground, the Professor tried to get out of the way before he fell into the yawning chasm.  He simply couldn't move fast enough due to his disabled leg and his injured hands, and he was swallowed up by the ground.  Fortunately, he didn't fall to his death, but rather found himself in a moderately-deep chunk of crumbled earth.

Glancing up, he saw that he could scale the wall, but it would be a tough climb.

[Fxeni]

Fxeni rushed out of the airship when he heard the crash of the daemon rising through the ground. He made his spear appear and rushed forward.

"Riagan, is this a common occurence in these parts, or are we really just that unlucky?" He asked as he rushed up, sizing up the giant rat for an opening to attack.

[Sapphire Knight]

The giant, rat-like monster let out a roar and shook it's head around, as if trying to dislodge the blue-armored idiot in it's jaws before letting loose a massive fireball. Or, at least, it tried to. The fireball, instead, exploded in it's mouth and sent the man in it's jaws flying right at the group of people.

[Sakura Leic]

"Wah!" Sakura cried as the man plopped in front of her.  She looked at him and saw that he was breathing against all sense of logic "He-he's alive!"

[Phi]

Due to the odd earthquake, Pema was interrupted before she could answer Riagan.

"What in the world is that?" She cried, noticing a gigantic rat-type creature near the Airship.

[Sapphire Knight]

The creature hacked a bit before spitting out a very shiny metal lance, that stuck into the ground next to the armored man, who was quick to get to his feet and take up the lance. "Of course I'm alive! It takes more than a blast of fire to get through this armor!"

[Sakura Leic]

"Okay then what in the world is that giant Rat and why was he eating you underground?" Sakura questioned again "And who are you anyway?"

(More spears, spears everywhere!)

[Fxeni]

Fxeni looked at the man on the ground, and swept his eyes around quickly to analyze the situation.The ground might not be stable, and the airship is nearby; using large spells was out of the question. The man, while seemingly fine, was in a compromised situation.

Fxeni focused mana in his feet, then flung himself high up into the air with wind magic. He twisted himself around in mid-air to face downwards, then brandished his spear in front of him as he careened towards the back of the giant rat.

(I remember a time when I took the spear/scythe because everyone was using swords... how things have changed )

[Phi]

(Spears are the new swords, apparently.)

[Quickman]

((Mine is more akin to a halberd.  And who has Riagan currently?  Should I just take him?))

[Sakura Leic]

(I'll keep him.)

"I have never seen such a beast before!" Riagan roared before charging in with his hammer.

[Sapphire Knight]

"Introductions later! That's a greater daemon, sorry it came here, fight, flee, or get eaten!" The man replied to Sakura, the lance turning into a large shield with a mirrored surface as the rat spat a fireball at the group on the ground, seeming to not notice the one who went into the air. The shield reflected the fireball, only for it to explode harmlessly on the daemon's chest. "Mirror shield."

[Sakura Leic]

"Maybe a bit Ice would be good." Sakura stated as she enchanted her sword with Ice "Ice Fang!"

Sakura swiped upward as a wave of ice headed toward the rat.

(Will still wait a bit before Calien comes in.)

[Quickman]

Meanwhile, the Professor was struggling to climb out of the hole.

[Fxeni]

Fxeni landed on the beast, spear first. It began to shake around, and Fxeni did his best to hold on.

(....Electrocute it?)

[Sapphire Knight]

The daemon roared as the spearman landed on it, attempting to shake it off. "Aim for the throat!" He called out, his shield shifting into a lance again before he stumbled a little. "Damn!"

[Fxeni]

"I'll... see what I... can do!" Fxeni yelled back, his footing less than stable due to the shaking of the beast. He pulled out his spear and jumped forwards. He thrust the spear into what he was hoping was its neck, sending electricity through its tip.

[Sapphire Knight]

The creature roared in pain as it's body seized up momentarily from the electricity. Unfortunately, though, Fxeni missed the mark a little.

"Quick! Before it recovers!"
