No. I'm also not to fond of Call being based heavily on Roll's design. I would of gone with either the green or pink haired versions.

But I'm sure stuff like boss rush mode or co-op isn't requiring stretch goals.

The intermediate goals are really meant for the major ones (multiplatform, co-op). They incentivize people to pledge/convince others to pledge. If it was simply, say, 2.2mil straight to 2.75mil, there would be no sense of urgency.
If you remember, the boss rush mode was placed inbetween existing goals before it was reached, which clearly means the funding wasn't actually going towards the boss rush.
And...are you kidding me? Of course co-op costs a lot of money.

As much as I want this game completed, I'm no fool, and can clearly see what he's doing here.

I feel the same people who rag on about Inafune now are the same people who believe Capcom is "killing" Mega Man to spite Inafune.

He's dedicating over a year of his life to making essentially an indie game.
He's putting his reputation on the line.
He's disclosing some of his development when Japanese gaming companies are notorious for being secretive.
He's using this game to support his past criticism against the Japanese gaming industry.

You really think his heart is in the money? You honestly think he wakes up everyday thinking "gee, I sure fooled those Mega Man fans, what a bunch of idiots".
I like Inafune, I'm not a fanboy. But this is just ridiculous.

I'm not going to bother weighing in on this, I'll say that I just want some megaman like gameplay and I don't really care if Inafune is "manipulating" the goodwill of people because that's what all kickstarters are. I don't mind crowdfunding at all personally as its a decent way to get something that might not have the full support of a major company to people but I can see where it could be used for shitty purposes, Honestly its not like this is really that big of a deal. Yet people are blowing it WAY out of proportion.

Greetings from the great beyond, fellow RPMers. I came a while back and saw this very thing on the forum, not to mention that I saw the whole Mighty No. 9 thing floating around the web much earlier...

Anyways, as I am finally back again, I came here to say that I've finally donated $20 so I could get a copy when it comes out.

Also, I wanted to say something about what people call "Pink Call", and that is this: remember that this game is basically a love letter to the genre that Megaman is from, and if people truly think of this as the successor to Mega Man, then one should realize one thing...

Rock = Beck
Roll = Call
Blues = ???(which is my point)

For all that we know, "Pink Call" may actually be part of a future vote towards who will play the role of Mighty No. 9's equivalent to Blues, or something...

Either that, or comcept will see how many people actually want "Pink Call" and will... well, they'll do something about it. That much I do know.


As for Tron's statements about Inafune being sly and all that, Flame's pretty much nailed it on the head and hard. People are longing for their fix of Mega Man, and the man is simply trying to fulfill that need. He knew that people wanted Mega Man, and that Capcom wasn't pulling it off for the fans, so that's why he made Beck and co. He knew that people would want this so bad that they can and will literally throw money at him just to do this. He probably has read forums like this one, and knew that this is how we felt about things. As far as I'm concerned, he knew that the whole Kickstarter thing would not only get off the ground, but would fly off so damn fast that it could reach escape velocity, hit the moon, split it in half and still keep on going. It's that simple.
