Just enjoy yourself, don't complain about everything

So that means I can post this now.

Double Helix is developing it. It will have inter-connectable worlds with a map system, similar to Metroid games (commonly known as Metroidvania).

It depends on your outlook on their past record.

They will also be responsible for the new Killer Instinct on XBox One.

This could either be awesome, or it will result in tragedy.

Time to play me some Strider 2 on ePSXe (if I can find image that isn't modified) and Crescent Pale Mist.

Well, they don't exactly have the best track record... but this is looking not bad so far! Sometimes the camera seems a bit too zoomed in though.

Nexus

It's looking alright, a little button-mashy but then that's Strider for ya. The allowance of exploration actually reminds me a lot of the NES game while still being faithful to Strider 1&2. Not sure what to think of the way the health system works, though.

Da Dood

Interesting to hear it'll be a Metroidvania game. I wonder if the action will still be fast with that design.

I think the blade animation looks too similar to the enemy damage (and even the background at times).

You rang?

...

Well the announcement trailer makes it look like Strider 2 dipped in candy, so I'm all game for that. Metroidvania style gameplay is definitely a plus for me. Will most likely buy day one. Cannot wait for 2014 now!

Flame

A new Strider? Surely one of the seals of the apocalypse has been broken...

when all the seals are broken, a new Mega Man game will be summoned from the nether realm(aka Capcom)

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Nexus

Sorry to bump, but the game's out now on 360, PS3, Xbone, PS4, and PC. $15, reviews seem to be generally positive. It's indeed a Metroidvania, a mixture of the gameplay from the arcade games and greatly enhanced exploration inspired by the NES game.

Fxeni

I recommend it! I'm finding it to be a bit on the easy side on normal difficulty, but it's still fun.

Protoman Blues

I liked the demo I played of it at NYCC.

Satoryu

Only negative I have is that you move with analog stick. That's a platformer development fau pa. I kinda find myself attacking and boosting in the wrong directions sometimes. You sometimes autostick to walls you might not want to, as well.

Aside from those, I'm digging everything else. All the new attacks Hiryu gets are pretty nice, and it flows well. He's not nearly as fast as in Strider 2, but he moves at a good pace.

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

OBJECTION MAN

Seriously no d-pad can be used? Not even an option?

Super fail.
