The waiting list is due to available units and the amount of people on the list.  It's not so much "waiting for someone to die" as many of the units aren't earmarked for elderly occupants.  Over-50 units tend to be handicap accessible.  My second-floor flat is not.  I spent a year on the waiting list just to get it.

The popcorn from the ceiling is gone and it's ready to be painted on Monday, though I don't know how long it will take.

Just try to not get an apartment where you have to pay for everyone's water like my brother did.  Seriously that sucks and almost makes conserving water pointless if your neighbor wastes it.

Yeesh.

If that were me, I'd search for a new place as soon as possible (providing my neighbor was a douche).

Well he is moving out since his lease is up anyway.  He's probably going to wait until he has a better job to get a new place, and since his major has barely any males in it and he's getting an internship along with his experience in camp he should get one no problem by next year I think.

So, you know of my one friend who picks on me for playing Pokemon and isn't into retro gaming, and when it comes to his religious views (or lack thereof, as he's a militant atheist) he has his head so far up his ass that it's any wonder he doesn't pass out from the fumes?

He said this in IRC:

QuoteGoodwood> On 22 February I'm going to try and persuade the Michigan Green Party to nominate me for United States Senator.

I had to walk away from the computer.

I laughed very hard.

I mocked this absurd idea very loudly.

I didn't dignify his comment with a response.

I seriously couldn't contain myself.  I needed to walk away and have a moment to cool down, as the idea is so asinine.

irgpie

does he wear a fedora? legitimate question here.

Quickman

Nope.

He doesn't know how to clean an apartment or budget money, as he usually blows his cash on models.  He wants to make a business out of building models for other people.  Last month, he had to ask his dad to handle a couple bills because he blew his cash on models and had only $30 to his name.

I got this strange image of him, even though I've never seen him before, wearing a coon skin hat for some odd reason when you mentioned a fedora....

.....And he's into politics why?

Because he wants a really tall soapbox on which he can preach to the masses about how everyone should be atheists.

Couldn't he just do that to random people on the street like the people who insist that the world is going to end in the near future?

For power maybe? People like that usually have oddball ideas and often try to get positions to better carry them out.

He was actually going to stage a one-person protest outside some local Scientology branch, based on stuff he read online.

Because, you know, if it's on the Internet, it must be true. 8D

Dude you should video tape his shame and put it on Youtube to be forever immortalized.

He lives in Michigan.

This lunacy about running for senator is going to backfire.  No one will vote for him, he has no good political qualities (his dad being in politics doesn't count), "budget" is a foreign concept, and he has absolutely no idea what it would take to get nominated when he has absolutely nothing to go on.

How will he help make the state of Michigan better by being a senator?  How will he solve any budget crises when he can't even pay for his own bills because he blew all his cash on models?  His dad was a county commissioner.  His dad had to worry about county problems.  Being a senator would have him worrying about STATE problems.

The guy can't even keep his apartment clean without the housing agency ordering a maid service and making him pay for it!

Why is he even your friend? It kinda baffles me, given your descriptions of him.

Police Girl

I feel as though I should apologize for bitching about my real-life problems on here, yet again.

Sorry.

He has a few good qualities, but they're quickly being overshadowed.  And you know that one friend in a group of friends who everyone hates?  Yeah, he's that friend.

You're right, it does.

Problem is when I post it in a public place its just pointless whining that everybody has to see.

I'll vote for him! To see him stumble!

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

Quickman

I hope he never asks me if I'll vote for him or if I think he'll be a good senator.

Scratch that, I hope he does.  I so badly want to be so incredibly blunt that it makes him bleed.

Forgiven and forgotten. The fact you feel comfortable telling us your problems is in of itself kinda okay though. Just try posting some happy things sometimes. Makes the world feel nicer, even if by a tiny bit.  8)
