On TFN where socks are allowed, people do it for game reasons.  Elsewhere, it's usually ban-evasion reasons.  Some also make socks because they want a new username.

I had a sock on one board for testing reasons.  Since on that board, I had admin access, I made a general user sock so I could test things and see what I'd break.

If it's a game or challenge topic that requires participants to PM their entries, a sock allows them to keep things organized.  PM entries to the game sock so that the user's inbox isn't cluttered up.

To me, the detail is important when it comes to these games. Especially with it being fair. Double Dash was not fair. Mario Kart Wii was not fair. This is the first Mario Kart console game since MK64 that's actually fair.

Well my friend also gave it a fair review, but knocked it for the coins being items thing and from his point of view 'green shells have impeccable aim and red shells everywhere' while claiming some other things about the item system having a few problems, but at least the blue shell is gone.

And since this is the guy who's not buying Smash 4 since he hate the roster, despite him saying that the game play looks amazing, apparently that's a category of importance for him as well in his review, while he loves the fact you can play as the Koopalings, Rosalina, and Shy Guy, he hates the babies and Pink Metal Peach. 

Also praised the graphics and music, but didn't go into tracks or anything like that.

Overall he gave it a 7.5 out of 10 because of the item system needing improvement beyond the lack of blue shell cheapness.

The only real problem with the coins is that you get them in the lower spots. Otherwise, it's there for a purpose. That purpose is the Super Horn gambit.

I should have mentioned the characters, but yeah I think that's pretty much the universal response, including my own. The babies, Metal Mario & Pink Gold Peach are a waste of roster spots that could've gone to Diddy or Dixie, and many other Mario characters.

Yeah I'll agree that I do not like the Babies or Pink Metal Peach.  Really just stick with Baby Mario, Luigi, and maybe Peach plus Metal Mario.

oh and here's something really funny about Pink Gold Peach.

Pink gold is diluted with copper, so it's not nearly as valuable of a metal as pure gold. It's also used mostly for jewelry, so I guess if Pink Gold Peach just wants to be a trophy then she's good for it, but not much else.
