I assume I'm at the midway point of The Last Of Us, and it's still very fun. I came into it thinking the visuals would look like Uncharted 3, however, it definitely surpasses it. Not an easy task.
I'm actually racking my brain on how they fit all those assets, textures, lighting, etc. into a PS3 game, because all great looking games have short-comings; TLOU has none, as far as I can tell. I mean, sure, there are flat textures here and there, but the overall package is incredible. I suppose I'll just be forced to chalk it up to Naughty Dog using some kind or sorcery to pull off what they did.
As for the gameplay, it's by no means groundbreaking, but it does work. It has the basic stealth elements and shooting controls, feeling very similar to Uncharted in the shooting aspect. Love the ability to throw bottles/bricks to distract enemies.
The stealth is better than Uncharted (I keep bringing that up because, when all is said and done, Uncharted is the foundation from which TLOU is built upon) however, I find myself occasionally alerting the clickers even when carefully sneaking around them. It gets annoying, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.
