Just watched some Game of Thrones scenes on YouTube; namely the gore and sex scenes.

JESUS. CHRIST. That was really unsettling.

They don't hold back on the explicit nudity or ultra-violence. One scene showed a little kid being stabbed; something I thought programs were supposed to avoid showing.

It's an HBO show. They can pretty much do whatever they want.

HBO, Starz, Cinemax, and others alike tend to have shows like this. I personally love Banshee on Cinemax.

Yeah. It's a premium channel that requires separate payment. Due to that, they don't have the same censorship restrictions that reg. cable channels have.

At the same time, I'd have to give AMC props for falling under the "basic cable" category, yet broadcasting a really a graphic show like The Walking Dead. Hell, even Breaking Bad had some surprising moments for a public series (throat cutting and melting bodies).

I don't know much about what exactly public television can allow, so perhaps gritty violence and other content that fall within the realm of "mature content" is not as uncommon as I initially thought. However, I've never seen strong profanity on any public channel. That much seems to be a sensitive area to go through.

Ahhh, damn damn damn. My mom ans sis left to Mexico to get on a plane. And my OldMan just told me that the plane landed but that her and my sis never came out of it. I just hope nothing horrible happened to them and that they are just O-K.....

I think the worst of the HBO shows I've seen was an episode of The Pacific in which a soldier was dropping pebbles into the puddle formed in a dead enemy's scalped and hollowed out head. Most nudity in that particular show was some brief full frontal from some French guy showering in the jungle, whom then proceeded to shoot himself in the head because he was so fed up with the war and conditions they were stuck in.

... yeaaa. Its older sibling series Band of Brothers had a bit more discretion though. Totally recommend that one if only for the soundtrack

So some guy sent me a friend request on steam a few days ago.

He then put a comment on a screenshot I made that simply said "Accept the Invite. You know me."

I checked the guy's profile, doesn't ring a bell.

I check my thing today and the invite is gone.

Either the guy was completely wrong about my identity or it was that guy from last year who was an incredibly clingy douche who got pissed at me for being online but not talking to him. Yeah I don't really want to be his friend again.
