As for Capcom giving the rights to someone else? Maybe not fully. Let someone else try make a MegaMan game. Worked fine for Metroid Prime and look at the new Tomb Raider.
Don´t have to change the basics,just try something new. Sega did. Look how well Sonic Generations is.

Look, all i´m saying is. If you look at life and it´s negative parts , you miss the good parts of life.
Take school, where you meet friends or discovered new things.
Or first day you played Mega Man 2. Was that a negative part?
