I think the first time I played R/B I soloed pretty much everything with m'Blastoise. Surf, Skull Bash, Bite and....I can't remember the fourth move. Don't think I ever needed it, TBH.

My Lapras is catching up pretty decently, they're already at Level 27 compared to the rest of my Team in the 35's.

I seem to remember Slash being broken as [tornado fang] on certain Pokes back then, too. IIRC, PERSIAN of all things was godlike if it had Slash and some sort of basic elemetal move (Thunderbolt? It's been a while and my memory's a little fuzzy.)

Yea, it was due to the critical hit mechanics back then that took the Pokemon's base speed in the calculation. Basically the higher the base speed of a Pokemon, the higher the chances of critical hits to land.

Not to mention a move with a high crit chance is much more likely to crit than in other generations.

Just make sure you don't use Focus Energy beforehand.

I cannot say that I soloed with any starter however I did Blastoise more than once in a battle. Leveling up is kind of difficult in previous generations except that you could level up with either the Elite Four or with some sort of rare candy cheat.

You just use the Bank and you should be able to get them.  If you have any leftover Battle Points or Miles from the Pokemon Link you need to get those first and then you can get the Regis.  The Regis are also gotten through the Link, which will be on the file select like the Mystery Gift and other things.

Well, I got my wifi Celebi with a Jolly nature, hooray.  Too bad they couldn't do the same thing for that freaking Mew giveaway, I went to three Gamestops and ALL of them were out of those lousy cards.  Oh well, there's always the Gen1 glitch.

So sometimes people make fan made cover plates for the New 3DS using a 3D printer on esty and Shapeway.  So this morning I found that someone made a Venusaur and Pikachu plate similar to the 20th anniversary plates for Blastoise and Charizard and I was estatic.......until I realized they were just decal stickers. 

*sigh* I should have guessed with how cheap they were, they were like $12 when such plates are around the $25-30 range, and the fact they were selling the Blastoise and Charizard stickers too, so of course they wouldn't be plates or else they be sued for selling the Charizard and Blastoise plates they made.  On the plus side they also made the same stickers for the New 3DS XL too, so there's that.  But seriously I would so get a fan made Venusaur plate similar to the Red and Blue Plates if someone makes one someday.

I think I'm holding off on Sun/Moon 'til I get confirmation that they're good, now that I've thought about it. I got burned on ORAS and I'm not letting that happen again.
