I think the diving to get to certain areas that bugged me a little since it was slower.  I mean I didn't mind the massive amount of surfing other than the usual high encounter rate of Tentacools and Pelipers but I didn't hate them as much as other people.  I just understand why people don't like them, but it wasn't the Sea Foam islands which I think was worse than all that.

Now getting the Regis was bullshit however.

It was cool once you got all three then moved to Gen IV and got Regigigas.

It's honestly not worth it anyway, all there is are some Lichi berries and wild Wynauts which makes no sense since they give you a Wynaut egg in the same game.

Liechis were legendary berries back then, and to have a Wynaut caught at that island...

I seriously hope that they don't make Feebas horrendously rare as in the original games.

Looks like I'll be picking up either Ruby or Sapphire.  I am going to assume that they will be backwards compatible with X/Y?  If so, my Kalos team will have a new region to explore and new friends to make!

So here's some head scratching trivia I just learned thanks to TvTropes. 

Zangoose and Seviper are well known for being enemies with each other to the point that it's a genetic hatred, however they can breed with each other.  That's just weird and puts a new spin on the whole hate sex thing.

So since I have never played Ruby before there was one music piece I never heard before until today, "Drought".....and it's pure [tornado fang]ing nightmare fuel, I like "Flood/Heavy Rain" much better.
