Oh man, I need the special Pokemon I used to have. It would make breeding so much easier.

When was the last time I poked you guys...

Quickman

I just hatched Runaway's baby.  Got a Bold Synchronize Abra who hates to lose!

Dr. Wily II

Woot!

9x30 + 36 + 12 + 5 = 323 Ralts have been hatched, and still trucking.
I need more box space. >_>

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

Mirby

Yeah I haven't resumed my quest for shiny Shinx yet.

Runaway got Puffs and pets for doing a good job.  Cagliostro also got Puffs and pets for passing on her Ability.  I may breed those two some more, or just have Runaway do stud service with other Pokemon.

Archer

Ah man I got all hyped up for Bank and even got everything ready on Black 2 for when it came out and now, nothing. I'll just wait until Bank does release.

Oh well guess I'll be on a longer hiatus from Pokemon than I originally intended, I just don't have the motivation to play until then.

Mirby

Yeah my boxes in my copy of Black 2 are all set up. Remember, it only takes Pokemon from Box 1.

I hatched an Adamant Gooey Goomy earlier.  His name is Skooshy.

I want to set Runaway up to stud.  What Pokemon would be good mates?  Got "Freak Me" already in the Love Shack playlist to send with him to the daycare. 8D

Would it have [tornado fang]-ing killed Nintendo/Game Freak to put in a method of transferring Pokemon from Gen 5 in-game instead of needing to download another piece of software? (Accessible after you complete the main story, of course.) Seriously, Pokemon is one of their biggest franchises and they could not see something like this happening? Even worse, I believe this is a harbinger for things to come with regards to the service we will get in the future. Though I had saying this because it makes me (sound like) an entitled prick but I believe Nintendo owes its customers big time for this screw up.

Well, they mentioned that for those that had downloaded Bank, and the service was interrupted, their trial periods get reset when the service comes up again. I guess it's a small start. We'll see what happens when they release it to the Americas and Europe.

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

As I have no prior games, I'm just after the storage space.  Opening the bank just after Christmas was in general a really bad idea.  You have a rush of new trainers just after the holidays.  If they opened it shortly after New Years, they might've had less of a problem.

Sakura Leic

Not to mention the people who get giftcards for the eShop on Christmas.
Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

The servers are slowly regaining normality. Most of the networks here in NA are operating normally again, but they're still taking it down from 4PM-4AM EST to alleviate traffic.

Might be for the best, actually, just to get things running smoothly again.  Also, as with other online features, it prevents people from being online all friggin' day.

Anti-poopsocking, as you'd call it.

Mirby

I expect to see Bank in early January. Like first half of the month.

I can wait for as long as needed, seeing as I have no prior Pokemon that I need transferred.  It just means I can't yet chain-breed for a Shiny without doing it in short spurts and dumping extras into Wonder Trade.

Of course that's literally the worst time they could take it down.

12 hours of downtime and its during the bulk of the afternoon. Great plan.

Mirby

Actually that's the best time to take it down. Obviously there'd be a lot of traffic during the afternoon and evening, so they're minimizing traffic by shutting it down during those hours so it's easier to fix everything.

Exactly.  Usually, maintenance is performed during non-peak hours.  But since peak hours are the problem, eliminating them eliminates the problem and allows for more time to devise a more permanent solution.

Mirby

Doesn't look like they'll need more time.
Quote from: Nintendo's Facebook pageThank you very much for your patience while we perform maintenance on the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Network. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support. We wanted to share some details on what is causing this downtime, and update you on the current outage in service.

The initial outage was primarily caused by a one-time surge in demand over the recent holidays, compounded by the following:

1) An influx of new Nintendo Network accounts being created and accessing the Nintendo eShop.
2) Existing Nintendo 3DS account information being moved to new Nintendo Network accounts.

We are continuing to adjust our network to meet the needs of all our services and applications. To ensure our global audience has an expected level of consistency in service, we took the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS offline. We expect to have it back online no later than 4 a.m. ET on Dec. 29, but may have to perform more maintenance in the future.

We truly apologize for the inconsistencies in our online services. We are working hard around the clock to fully restore these functions, and will continue to keep you updated on our progress.

Not surprising really. With that new influx of users comes with people who want to buy things from the eShop. Nintendo knows that is where a good chunk of money is and would hurry in fixing things.

Depends on your timezone. If it is really Singapore, it's should be at 5 PM on Dec. 29.
