I'm still planning on getting my nephew a GBA emulator and some roms.  Though, his tablet is on the fritz, so that's not an option currently.

He also needs to learn some basic fundamentals about Pokemon overall; like how Strength isn't everything, and how he should focus on at least half a team and not on one single Pokemon.  He'll be shocked to learn that he doesn't get Legendaries right at the start (no hacked versions for him), and how he'll *gasp* have to train his Pokemon!

He uses the "all power single Pokemon" strategy with the card game, which will bite him right in the butt should he actually play against someone who knows what they're doing.

I used to have a deck based around the original quite broken Rayquaza ex card from way back. It sucked because I had too many Pokemon that can give me the energy I need to power up Rayquaza's sole energy discarding attack... But the Pokemon cannot fight back whatsoever. XD

Also had a deck with base set Mewtwo, 55 Psychic energy, and 4 Maintenance. The whole point was to use Barrier, and stall the game into making the opponent lose by drawing out his/her whole deck. Never tried it to see if it really worked. 8D

as for moemon, I'll PM you the link when I get back, Quickie.

Even those decks have a strategy behind them.  My nephew's strategy is to grab whatever strongest Pokemon he has and hope the other player has nothing but crap in their deck.  And even then, he barely knows how to use the Pokemon he picked.

I should devise a deck made up of really underrated cards and weak Pokemon, but with so many support cards that it'll take out that Groudon he got for Christmas.

Though, it is a Groudon, so I could take it out with a garden hose. :P

Dr. Wily II

A GROUDON FOR CHRISTMAS!? D:

and that hose will do nothing but roast. 8D

He got the winning TCG deck with Primal Groudon EX for Christmas and he has no idea how to use it.

At Le Wow and so begins the Yveltal Triple Battle...

...

Realized that these guys are too low level, so I have some backups...

Somehow, they survived the first battle.  I still have other Pokemon in case these two lvl ~50 Yveltal need help.  Only one is at the right level. :B

Onto the next battle...

Audino uses Protect because [dark hold].  Amoonguss puts Yveltal to sleep, so switching in Prof. Hypno.  Got the other two Yveltal ganging up on Audino.  Battle took longer than I planned.

Third battle...

Shieldon avoids the Heat Wave, Milotic uses Blizzard, Shieldon uses Taunt...  Yveltal gets the Heat Wave on the second turn.  Milotic is being a real pain in the ass.  So, gonna gang up on it.

Didn't need to switch in a backup this time.  Fourth battle...

Floatzel uses Protect, but I'm throwing out a Heat Wave so whatever.  Concentrating on the Togekiss and Lucario mostly.  Lucario is a pussy and uses Protect.  Togekiss is a pussy and uses Protect.  Heat Wave falls flat.  [tornado fang] that Floatzel and its Protect spam.  Battle is taking [tornado fang]ing forever due to Protect spam.  [tornado fang] that Floatzel.  It's hanging on by a thread.

Time for a Yveltal gang-beat on the Floatzel.  It's down.  One turn over the recommended amount thanks to Protect spam.  Onto the final battle...

Heat Wave to start in case there's any spammers and I like me some spread-fire.  Took out the Chatot.  Gonna keep that strategy.  Took out the Exploud on the second turn.  Gang-beat on the Aurorus...

Battle went swimmingly.  Off to sell my Balm Mushrooms.  That was amusing.

Dr. Wily II

Yea... Always hated the team of Togekiss/Lucario/Floatzel.

Either way, the phoenixes of death brought you profit!!
AND PLENTY OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION :W

The Bacon Bird Crew grew several levels during the battle.  The restaurant Pokemon had a 13-level advantage over EminemRapGod and Yveltal #1, whereas Yveltal #2 was at the same level.  If it wasn't for the Amoonguss using Spore, I probably wouldn't have switched out to a backup.  But, we had a sleep-inducer and Prof. Hypno is my switch-in to counter that.

After a few battles, I started to get a feel for using Yveltal and around the last battle, I actually had a strategy.
