The website for the anime based on Crimson and Anastasia Shestakova's fantasy manga Aoi Sekai no Chūshin de opened on Friday and confirmed the voice cast: Nobuhiko Okamoto (Blue Exorcist's Rin), Hiro Shimono, Suzuko Mimori, Izumi Kitta, and Takehito Koyasu.

The story re-imagines the real-life console wars as a fantasy tale — the Segua Kingdom is locked in an age-old war with the Ninterudo Empire for dominance of the land of Consume. Segua now finds itself on the defensive, but an unlikely hero has risen in the form of Gear, a boy who brags about his breakneck speed. Gear helps turn the tide of the war.

Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Destiny of the Shrine Maiden, High School DxD) is directing, and Maki Fujii (07-Ghost, Destiny of the Shrine Maiden) is designing the characters. Kouji Tsujitani (Freezing) is in charge of sound direction.

Sees OP, my initial reaction was: "Huh, this will be inter.." Then remembers Hyper Dimension Neptunia, despite being an all-loli cast based on consoles, yet similar in some way.

My Reaction: "And boom goes the dynamite, looks like they are at it again."

While the underlying plot is... unique, the design just looks so generic and uninspired. I have little hopes of anything interesting coming out of this.

I know it does, but it's still a turnoff and Ramses looked like she had....well I don't want to say it outright during her fan service moment.  I also found the pacing to be a bit fast...I feel I should say that's ironic since Sonic is the main character.  Neru is also a very flat character from what I see, but it's only the first episode and I only saw Gear, Neru, Opal, Ramses, Tejirof, Marces and his Yoshi, and Zerig.

It wasn't that horrible. (again RPM jumps into conclusions so quickly)

It was sad that Gear's brother Til had to die the very beginning of the episode, but that is the build up to why Gear wanted to join the Segua army in the first place, so they could take over the Ninteldo continent.

I'll watch the whole thing, one week at a time.

It's not bad at all, I mean we're watching Chihaya furu., Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Bento, Kaijii, Hunter X Hunter and the Densha Otoko love drama.  We also have crazy randoms ranging from Chunniboyu, Accel World, Minori (or whatever that anime with the half penguin robot girl thing), and for some odd reason the Sailor Moon live drama which is double as weird because we watched the first episode as a random last year before the last meeting.

Last year we saw Ano Hana (though I showed up close to the end), Penguin Drum, Working!, Gintama second season, Hunter X Hunter, Bokurano (it was so boring it got changed to another random), and Kaijii first season.  The live dramas were Host Club and Arakawa Under the Bridge and I liked Arakawa Under the Bridge.
