ニンテンドー3DS『逆転裁判123 成歩堂セレクション』プロモーション映像

Quote
According to the latest edition of Famitsu magazine, the first three Ace Attorney games, that is, Ace Attorney, Justice for All, and Trials and Tribulations, are heading to the 3DS in a special compilation edition. The compilation will be called Ace Attorney 123: Wright Selection, and will feature enhancements on the new handheld, such as the addition of stereoscopic 3D.

Famitsu suggests that both an English and Japanese version are in the works, as the Japanese version of the collection will also have the English-language option present. It's worth noting that Japanese versions of previous Ace Attorney games have had an English language option.

A limited edition version will also be available, which will come with a drama CD, and first-print copies will come with a download code to get an extra arranged BGM and an original background image.

The compilation will be released in Japan on April 17 for 3,990 yen (~$45 US). There was no word on when it will release in any other markets.

Same here. I've replayed them multiple times in the past, and I wouldn't mind replaying them again.

Either way though, this is really for people who have never experienced the series before.

If it comes to the west, I [tornado fang]ing hope it's not download-only.

EDIT: Also, Shu Takumi stated that he was working on a new project.

Knowing Capcom, the fact that they still consider the series worth rehashing is sadly reassuring in its own way.

You know, I've only cleared the first two cases in Dual Destines (too many damn 3DS games...) and I gotta say, it already strikes me as being the most poorly localized of the series.  Whoever does the proofreading at Capcom is truly useless; I swear I run into a new typo every 15 minutes.

There are a lot of typos in that game. I think they got less frequent as the game progressed.

With the rerelease of the first 3 games on 3DS I just it means they'd consider packaging the other games together down the line, with a translation for Investigations 2.

A couple comparisons from the 3DS to GBA/DS.

I have to say, it's a much bigger improvement then I initially thought it was going to be.

Well this means they should take absolutely no time to put this out in the US.

Because the work is already done for them.

No no, they obviously have to remove all the Japanese stuff from the game and make a new logo, that's clearly too much work.

I'd prefer Investigations 2 - you know, the game I actually haven't played before?

The HD version of 123 is pretty much the iOS ports.

Well, yeah. But I actually wouldn't mind playing these over again, nice and remastered; Ace Attorney and T&T, that is. Couldn't care less about JFA, even if I did love the last case.

During a Nintendo Direct back in February, it was revealed that the original Ace Attorney series creator, Shu Takumi, was working on a new game of the series. This new project has been revealed as The Great Ace Attorney, and it takes place during the Meiji period of Japan.

As mentioned in our earlier report, the new Ace Attorney project was said to be completely different from past games of the series, and now that we know that The Great Ace Attorney will be taking place during the Meiji period (1868 – 1912), it sounds like it will indeed be quite different.

The protagonist of the game is known as Ryunosuke Naruhodo (Naruhodo is the name for Wright in Japanese), and he’s actually an ancestor of Ryuichi Naruhodo, or Phoenix Wright. The image shows him dressed in what appears to be a school uniform and he’s wielding a katana on the side, stating, “I’ll become a lawyer… definitely!”

The game will be directed by Shu Takumi. Shintaro Kojima, who previously worked on E.X. Troopers and the Monster Hunter series, will take on a role as producer.

The Great Ace Attorney is currently in development for Nintendo 3DS.

Sure can't wait for that Feudal Los Angeles setting when it gets localized... pfft. Like that's going to happen.

Considering the fact that Capcom withheld one of AA5's DLC chapters for being "too japanese", I can only IMAGINE what kind of horror story they'll feed everyone to avoid localizing this.

That is of course assuming they didn't give up on the franchise outside of Japan entirely, seeings how they never did have enough confidence in AA5 to do a retail release.

Know what else was too Japanese? Katamari Damacy, and that did just fine here.

Capcom really needs to pull their heads out of their asses because they will die out at this rate. This game better come here, and they don't even need to work in some stupid THIS IS TOTALLY AMERICA GUYS thing. Just say that one of Wright's ancestors was Japanese, and BOOM! Setting intact.

Well, wasn't that some like quiz or something about some Japanese stuff? I can imagine that it wasn't considered common knowledge to the US so they cut it. Not that they couldn't have rewritten the scenario to use something more common knowledge based but hey that would've taken effort and you know Capcom on the concept of effort in recent history. Besides, I know that people would've bitched because something was rewritten/changed from the original version just because people do that, regardless if it would've been a good change or not.

Stayed up all night to beat Dual Destinies because the way the last two cases intertwine. Pretty good, really enjoyed it.
