Just a quick blurb while I'm at work, but I gotta say Nintendo is hopefully on the right track with their new system. My main concern is the online capabilities of it, which they are seemingly addressing with the new Nintendo Network announcement.

The 'NFC' thing opens up a lot of potential for not only gaming but sucking immense amounts of money out of people's money, especially in regards to anything Pokemon. OR MAYBE I'LL FINALLY GET THAT YUGIOH...ahem, nevermind!

Anyway, just thought I'd bring it up! Discuss!

The NFC thing interests me the most right now. I mean, that offers up a lot of ideas. And they all involve a fuckton of money being made for Nintendo.

Because your Club Nintendo is a service that gives you awesome stuff. My Club Nintendo is a magazine, you can't make accounts or get the awesome stuff you do with a magazine.

IMO Club Nintendo only got better starting this year, with the free download tickets for eShop/WiiWare games. The only thing worth while back then were the posters and Hanafuda Cards (and I so do love them).

Anyway, I'm still keeping my expectations low for the Wii U. I can't deny that I like the heavier focus on connectivity, but I still need to see it in action.

I need to see a game worth playing that isn't a Zelda tech demo which we all know the actual Zelda game devs are going to disregard anyway.

But still, the tech announcements are interesting. Good news, to be sure. I just need to see software. But hey, it's Nintendo, we know it's coming. I definitely plan on getting a Wii-U, I'm just still waiting for them to blow my socks off.

I sorta-kinda disagree with that. The game downloads are great, this is true. But their Platinum Status reward this year kinda blows. Mario hat, awesome. Mario resin, awesome. Mario...pins? They already did that, and the non-Elite pins are actually better. Not impressed.

But they did have a few cool things up there. Other M screensaver, Zelda posters, and all that jazz.

Unsurprisingly people are bitching because it's for a Nintendo console. [tornado fang] THEM THOUGH, BAYO-[tornado fang]ing-NETTA 2 IS REAL NOW AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.

Still though, Nintendo really can't stop being in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't situation". People [sonic slicer] that Nintendo doesn't have games that they want, but then when they do have them they [sonic slicer] that Nintendo has them. It really sounds to me like those people just don't want anything to do with Nintendo at all.
