So, there are two (or more) IRC topics, but I don't feel like reanimating them to life.
Does no one on RPM use IRC? It's the same collection of regulars that come in and either idle, or talk about [acid burst] boring stuff like Sparky's lack of a life.

Come on people, we need some variety!
This page is outdated as [parasitic bomb], so I recommend using Mibbit or an actual IRC program that doesn't blow ass.
Also, the rules link to a introduction thread. How unimpressive.

Acid

Never been a big fan of IRC. So you'll have to get along without me.

Yes yes, I know. a tragic loss and a near fatal blow to the overall quality of your conversations but I'm sure you will manage to entertain yourselves anyway.

irgpie

Despite being there almost everyday I rarely read any of the few things spoken in it (which is maybe a bit incompetent since I'm an Op).

Also I personally recommend Nettalk if you don't mind all the German.

I ronically, I do.

Nekomata

People still use that thing?

Flame

whats this ICR you speak of.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

You were on it all of once to talk to Wily II about something or other. :v

irgpie

Because there's nothing to read.

irgpie

My thoughts exactly

all I usually see is some random image from xnam or GameSaver

Harruhy

It's impressive that you've just mentally blocked out everything Sparky says.

irgpie

I try hard to

even if all it takes is laziness and inability to care

Harruhy

Do half of the people in the IRC channel even post on the forums anymore?

Quickman

I've dropped by a couple times, but I rarely post on the other channels I frequent; I'd just be lurking there as well.  I'd also have nothing to talk about, unless people wanna know what I do on Wookieepedia and SWFanon.

Dr. Wily II

Bah, it just needs more Aile. *nods*

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

Krystal

I used to drop by when I went onto my regular IRC channels.

I no longer visit those :D

But yeah, dead place \(^O^)/

Hiryu

Last time I stopped by there was when we didn't have as many cobwebs. The place isn't active enough because people don't chat. Ironically, I thought that was what chatrooms were designed for. You want more activity in the chatroom? When I go in there, all I see is people AFK because it's so boring. Almost no one talks. I have a better time posting a topic and getting replies a day or even two later than going into the chatroom. You should rename it to the RPM AFK room or RPM's cypernap area.

But it's not only the chat room, but RPM itself. Last time I checked we weren't a super community with hundreds or even thousands of people online 8 hours a day. However I remember the days when we had about 10 people and they would stay up late chatting. So even though we don't have a thousand active members, we can still have a decent chatroom.

But it all starts with you. You people are responsible for making the chat a lively place or a inactive one. For those of you who haven't been in a while, I encourage you to atleast pop in once in a while. Even though it may be a small "What's up?"

/soapbox

Mirby

The problem is that no one responds to a what's up. The most activity I see is late at night, when it's daytime for the Doc. And even that is negligible.

Quote from: VirusChris on September 16, 2017, 03:55:20 PMJust enjoy yourself, don't complain about everything

Harruhy

The only reason there isn't discussion is because the people that go there probably just have it set to auto join or don't care enough. New people would be reason enough to talk.

I don't think it really matters what time it is for the Doc because he's either ALWAYS SLEEPING OR ALWAYS AWAY.

Dr. Wily II

SORRY FOR HAVING A JOB NOW 8U

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

No, cause they're either banned or they "left".

Or they're complete [Top Spin]s.

xnamkcor

To remedy this situation I have coded a bot that will respond to your queries while I am away. It is of the latest technology known to man and uses a ground-breaking AI to act just like me. One drawback, though, it has everybody on ignore.

Or both...  ::)

GuardianHX

I'm all for bringing more people in.

Stick around and try to grab our attention. Some of us might take a while to reply, so don't feel like you're being ignored. Minimize your client or whatever you're using and carry on like normal until a conversation starts.
Though it appears this topic is trying to avoid that laziness... If more people do it, though, we'll eventually become more lively.

Remember, it's a chat room. Chat.

Don't come in and say, "hi", and then leave because we don't entertain you. Unless you ask us to, then I'm sure we can find something. I probably have a few videos.
