Se was from the intro part to the movie. One of the scientists who made Mew Two, also made a few other Poke clones, and also a clone of his dead daughter's soul. But they all failed and died/disappeared/dissolved(?) Leaving Mew Two alone. they all seemed to have a telepathic link, so their deaths distressed Mew Two so much that they erased his memory of it.

Which is the American theater release of the movie didnt have that part. Cuz it really is irrelevant and has no bearing on the plot.

If you mean why they removed it in the first place? probably because it messes with [parasitic bomb] like reviving dead people and [parasitic bomb], which little kids, (the intended demographic) wouldnt get, and something about the fact that the guy cloned his daughter and the clone died.

I can only think because Little kids wouldnt really get it all, or wouldnt be able to sit through it without OMG AKSHUN.

Yes well, also remember, it's like a prolouge saying "Have a story that has nothing to do with the plot, but takes place before this story and revolves around some characters from the story, but they won't ever talk about it in the real story!" Though, in the end, it is nice piece of information.

It depends, this was actually for kids, since the plot would make no sense. I was smaller when I watched it and I knew I wouldn't wanna see that, I just wanna see copy pokemon beating the crap out of the originals!
A rerelease of it with it was better for the fans who remember the movie and prefer this extra tidbit.
