That's a classic right there. Biggest relevant difference between wasps and bees is bees sting to defend the hive, not themselves, whereas wasps sting over the slightest provocation.

You know, it's funny.  We have scores of wasps out here where I live, but they're all extremely passive.  Sometimes, they fly around you or bump into your head or whatnot, but I've yet to have one actually come at me with the intention of stinging.  Even when I doused their hives with horrible chem spray and killed their friends and family.  :o

I haven't had many problems with wasps and have been able to handle them without being stung.  Most wasps avoid confrontation.  It's the yellow jackets that tend to be more aggressive and sting with little provocation, but even then, I haven't been stung that often by them.  Recently, though, one crawled up my pant leg and stung me about three times.  Dunno how it got into my pant leg or why.

We also have giant hornets, cicada killers, mud dauber wasps, paper wasps, spider wasps, cricket hunters...  I can get up close to all of them and observe them as they go about their business.  I don't bother them and they don't bother me.  They avoid confrontation.

And wasps drink nectar and pollinate flowers as they feed.

They're certainly less defensive in the daytime. Come near a hive at night though, and ho ho ho is it bad news.

Fire ants suck. I'm sure Quickman knows, but they're an invasive Columbian species with no natural predators on this continent. I was reading about a parasitic fly that lays its eggs in other bugs. The larvae eat the brain and nervous system, until one day the head just falls off. 3 or so days later, out come little fly babies.

What's really interesting is the behavior exhibited by afflicted bugs. The ants will wander aimlessly, separate from the colony, and stingless bees, which have been known to be targets of the Pharadae fly sometimes, forage at night and fly towards light like a moth. That has to be cool to see.

I used to be deathly afraid of being stung, but then I realized either it doesn't really hurt that much, or I have grown a high pain tolerance.

Yeah that [parasitic bomb] is nasty. Then again, there's also a recently discovered, or at least recently more common amoeba that gets into your brain from your nose from certain kinds of lakes and ponds and eats away at your brain until you die. while afflicted you become feverish, delirious and even stop recognizing or remembering people. Now that is scary.

But enough about creepy things like that.

Alternatively, substitute CV:LOS for Legends, and you've got more or less the same outcome 8D

Not really the point. It was good yes. GREAT even, buuuut tended to (when it was new anyway) start flamewars in CV discussions Because it was different, and thats all it really ever boiled down to.

Arthas, as in "takes bad advice from demons, sells his soul to Ner'Zul, kills everyone he ever held dear, becomes the Lich King, gets his ass handed to him by a group of amateur adventurers looking for loot and only loot, has a deathbed repentance despite making a conscious decision to abandon the light, and gets his dead father's forgiveness as he dies, then gets replaced by a giant freaking dragon as the 'big bad' of the Warcraft universe'" Arthas Menethil, yes.

...  God, I hate what they've turned that timeline into.  More retcons and changes than DC and Marvel combined.  Why can't they just zip ahead 20 more years and make a "Warcraft IV" already?

Retcons are cheap and revitalize interest in the brand. Making IV would cost loads of money, meanwhile WoW prints money and only requires server upkeep and "balancing" classes every few months to keep people from getting bored.
