He's probably not the final boss anymore, so it'd be kinda expected that he's not as tough.  Sonic to me is more about the rush than the actual challenge, anyway.  How many other games are so damn fun to just blaze through the first few levels while invulnerable?

Hope the Console version (it better be there) is as awesome sounding.
That...was like an orgasm in my ears.  And just when I thought Sonic soundtracks were getting weaker.  No stopping me from buying that now!

Now I'm curious: Mushroom Hill is in this, so I wonder if there's any chance of hearing an S&K Act 1 boss remix?

That's fair but i wouldn't mind a challenge mode where you can get some tougher boss versions to go up against.

It's exclusive to Europe and Australia, though. A really dumb move if you ask me.

Shame, what a nice figure they have there too.

Not for Europeans and Australians. =P

We deserve a bonus every now and again after getting every single game here so damn late compared to you guys.

I'm not even European and I agree with this (only because I've seen far too much whining from Europeans and Australians about getting games late).

And if it's that much of an issue, I'm sure this'll end up on eBay or something before too long.

Thank you.

To give a small example, Super Paper Mario came out in the US in April. Came out over here in September.
Shadow of the Colossus came out in October. We waited until February.
Phoenix Wright? October 2005 US, March 2006 Europe. MARCH 2009 AUSTRALIA.

This happens with 90% of the games that are developed in Japan, and most of the time, US-developed games too. No matter what happens, we always wait a week or longer until they come out over here.

Oh, quit your bitching and enjoy your non-Gecko-loaded Xenoblade. XD

I agree, though, nothing wrong with throwing different regions a bone as far as collectibles go.  It's not as if every promotional/customer-gratitude package to exist here in the U.S. made it to the rest of the world, and CERTAINLY not every one from Japan did.

I am.

And honestly, in a perfect world, we'd all get everything I'm all for that. I'm just fuking tired of hearing people say that Europe gets all of the goodies first because of a few recent examples.

Phi

I still think it's a bad move. From a financial point of view, I find it hard to see sales from Europe and Australia surpassing, say, Europe and the US. If they had this Collector's Edition up for grabs in the US, It would have likely sold better than in Australia. Possibly even Europe.

Bueno Excelente

Trust me, there are a lot of Sonic fans in Europe. And sales are much higher than in the US. I have no idea about Australia's numbers, but if Sega's doing this, it must have some kind of financial importance, right?

And Sega has a larger presence in Europe than in the US, I think.

Don't underestimate the sales of an entire continent.

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Police Girl

Yeah but he's just a boss (People who looked at the leaklist would know this). I'm betting he's going to be City Escape's boss.
I wonder if people will complain when Silver is announced to be in the game as well...
They're both part of the Sonic Universe. I'd find it strange if they weren't in.

That's a nice surprise. Looking forward to having a portable version of the console game.

slayer

finally sega understood what sonic is about..... speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddd ....i guess so.
no  animu weirdeness just speed
sonic is a cartoony character after all

Align

Sonic is NOT all about speed but that video does look really cool.

Bueno Excelente

Sonic's about actiony fast platforming with cool enemies blowing up and colorful amazing scenarios.

Sonic has never been about Speed aside from in Unleashed and the god-awful speed sections in 2006.

That's like saying Mario's all about plumbing.

Phi

The level looks cool, but the sky looks [tornado fang]ing boring. Ironic, really.

Nonetheless, I like the remix and level design. Still need more footage of it.

Flame

Well he DOES go into pipes...

Modern Sonic is about Speed. Sonic '06 experimented with autorunning speed segments, and Unleashed solidified the concept into decent speed based gameplay.

Colors took what Unleashed did and polished it off, as well as including more 2D segments. And since they werent restricted to regions of the world anymore, they were able to do much more creative things with the stages. They also brought back Eggman as the final boss, returning some of his lost dignity along the way, and they shed the 4kids actors, leaving only Mike Pollock cuz hes just such a great Eggman.

And Generations is following suit by actually having Classic pure 2D sonic in the game, and stages based on old stages from all across Sonic's lifetime.

Wow Sega. Wow.

Its just amazing how they have come this far.

Maybe Mega Man will follow suit some day?

that said, Sky sanctuary [tornado fang] yeah. Although it looks nothing like what I would have imagined a 3D SS looking like. Its colors are totally off.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.
