So... I was talking to a friend who works as a beta tester for SEGA, and although he's not playing it (if he was, I'd have nothing), he says that it's right across the room from the games he's testing and everyone who is testing it loves it.

I'll take that as a good sign.

This is easily one of my favorite image macros on the net. And yeah, totally agreed. I don't know, maybe it's just because Sonic's world and art design/aesthetic is that strong, but seeing this game makes me more hyped than when I first started seeing deeper in both Colors and Unleashed. (Spagonia - Rooftop Run trailer is still burned into my brain all this time later)

That one's scheduled for late 2012 release, though, which means we'll probably be looking at a different Sonic title by then.

Basically, the idea behind generations was to compress 20 years of Sonic into one game.

he explains that they made Sonic 4 to cater to the 2D sonic fans, and Colors to cater to the side that likes the modern 3D sonic. With this game, they plan on bringing both of those sides together in one game.

Hey, I wonder if we will get playable Supersonic? Imagine, playing through a 2D level as Super-classic-Sonic. wouldn't that be grand.

Yes, but this could mean the return of Bark the Polar Bear, Classic Sonic had some pretty obscure friends back in the day ya know.. Seeing a forgotten character (Hell, even Tiara, the girl that never got to exist alongside Honey) would make a grown man cry.. but you know the sonic fanbase, can never please them all.

Yeah, I much preferred the gameplay of the older Sonic in that clip. Y'know, the one where he actually had to jump often and stuff as opposed to... uhh... running.

I dont know if im alone in this, but i think, even though Im certain it wont happen- it would be cool to play stages interchangeably, such as, playing modern Sonic stages as Classic sonic. maybe as a bonus or something when you beat the game.

Oh, and yeah, DAMN that looked good.

The "modern" segment looked like Unleashed, in the "hold Boost and pray" sense.

The "classic" segment though?  That looked like the Sonic-nostalgia equivalent of sex with a beautiful woman.
