Fanboyism aside, Tim Schafer is just bloody brillant when it comes to designing games: Psychonauts is a truly charming an interesting plattaformer, probably the only one other than Banjo Kazooie that has held my attention for so much hours. Grim fandango, even with it uncofortable controls, has nothing to envy to pixar's masterpieces. And he worked in the dialogs and designs in Maniac Mansion and Monkey island. His next game, Brutal Legend, promises great things, this men is the best in the industry in the creation of good stories with charming and amazing characters.

Oh, whew, good, it's back.

...yeah yeah, I know EA's the publisher, now, but there's enough of the people actually developing the game that should be able to make sure it's fun.

Day one.

Align

50/50 that it bombs, or just suffers from critical existence failure before release...

I'm intriguedby this. Least thing I can do is to give a try.

RockmanHalo

Holy [parasitic bomb]. A rock themed game that isn't a DDR for the fingers?

My mind just exploded.
Talk. Fast.

HyperSonicEXE

Yep, with actual rock music legends taking part in it.

Except Jack Black. He's tagging along.

borockman

Lol, that's hilarious. Black Jack is a plus point for me. (name order is intended)

Proud member of Indigo tribe!

Probably the only game asides Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep that I'm looking forward to in '09.  It's being made by the brilliant minds of Tim Schafer and Double Fine, their previous game being Psychonauts.  For those who didn't play or buy Psychonauts go punch yourself in the crotch right now.

First trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WYH2sFCGvE    (It's been said that everything you see in this teaser can be done in the game  :V)

Video Game Awards trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM5lMHbq9j8 (DOUBLE FIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE)

Also well as Jack Black voicing the main character (Eddie Riggs) it's been confirmed that Lemmy Kilmister (who's playing a character named Kill Master  8D) bassist/vocalist of Motorhead, Rob Halford vocalist of Judas Priest, and Ronnie James Dio who was in Black Sabbath will be in it.  More Hollywood voice actors/metal stars have yet to be announced.  Here's hoping Kyle Gas and Dave Grohl make it in.  8)

So yeah.  Pretty pumped for this.

Acid

Necrobump.

The release is drawing ever closer, and gameplay videos are coming in. One after another. And I like what I see.

The game is basically... Zelda with Metal Music.

If you think about it, Jack Black is the ultimate Roadie, and since the character is a Roadie, it fits :D

That makes it sound all the more awesome XD

HyperSonicEXE

Is the demo out on the PSN tomorrow?

I really do need to try it out.

DECAPITATIOOOOOOOOON!

Ozzy BGM?!

COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!

People are mistaking 'combat depth' and 'ease of control', though.
Same people that like 2D Fighters' String Inputs.

The Drunken Dishwasher

Yeah, that song of the first killing is from Black Sabbath.

and 2 more days till it arrives on shelves~ tee hee

HyperSonicEXE

I hope it's still good. The lack of difficuly doesn't bother me in the least, but a lot of pirates are saying that the RTS elements including visual cluster[hard knuckle]s really cramp the gameplay.

Maybe there should be a more 1P/Eddie-centric sequel.

Thoughts?

I say it's damage control. Couldn't we have just had more, y'know, action?
