You shouldn't cheat on online games. I only tried in on the PSO private server for a while, just to see what it's like. I mainly did it because they let you and even tell you how to do it. I never did it again, though. oo;

Hell yes, I cheat.

I just cheat for fun, not for lack of skill.

That depends. Generally, I'll try and complete the game first unaided, since otherwise I find it kind of pointless. Sometimes I might pop in a cheat device and just do it for fun after completing it - for example, infinite health in 007: Nightfire so I can have fun and not worry about losing the mission. I used an "unlock all characters" cheat in Melee, though, since I couldn't manage to get Mr. Game & Watch or Mewtwo. I usually use the level select in Sonic 1 and on an emulator, save-states are my best friend. =3

Oh, and using the warps in the Mario games is also cheating.

Someone once told me, "If you actually play through the whole game of Super Mario Bros. without warping, you're a loser."

I think that if you need to warp to beat Super Mario Bros., you're a loser. That's just me, though.

That's not cheating, as much as it is lame.

Hell no. I was proud as [parasitic bomb] when I discovered these warps. Yes that's right, we used to discover secrets OURSELVES back in the day. And it felt AMAZING.
Nowadays it's just "check GameFAQs!"

It is, but it wasn't nearly as satisfying as when me and my friend beat Super Mario Bros. from start to finish. Then again, by that time, everyone knew about the warps.

This times a thousand. Sometimes the internet takes away from my ability to finish games completely without help because the temptation is always there. Luckily enough, I'm a hard head, so I'll usually stick through games to the end, unless I'm lost as [tornado fang].

Also, the minus world. When I accidentally found that the first time, I shat bricks. XD

usually, i don't cheat in games. especially games nowadays. back in the day, though, i used some cheats. most of those were purely for fun. i had to cheat a little in Banjo Kazooie on N64 to get the Stop n Swop items.

i used cheat devices to:
- get all Pokemon in RBY and GSC (cause i had no friends to trade with)
- get all custom character parts in Soul Calibur 3 (cause i hate that game, but love that KOS-MOS is in it)
- beat Perfect Agent missions in Perfect Dark (cause i sucked back then)

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

That's because there aren't any cheat devices for the next-gen systems... :|

Yes, I cheat quite often. And I'm not ashamed of it.

Although most of the time I play the game fair and square, so the cheating is just to make me feel even more of a super hero then I would've without the codes.

In RPGs I hack for max money because while I do my share of experience grinding I don't find grinding for money fun. Espicially when I get to a part that I never saw coming which doesn't allow me to grind for money for a while until I get to the overworld in which case I get tired of fighting anything.

Also, I'm freaking lazy.

You never used a cheat device on a PS2?

that's really the only time i used it. the PS2 Action Replay hates me.

I know my friend Game Shark's pretty much every RPG that he plays.  It's mainly because he's my age and with his job and all, doesn't have the time to game like he use to, but he still wants to get through it and see the story.

forgot about emulators. in that case, it is imperative that everyone at some point play X3 with the Always Zero and Automatic Full Charge codes on.

Well, I only used to cheat back then, with Sonic 2 and a couple other games. Using debug mode to skip through the levels, adding items/rings (etc).
But really, that was only for fun.

Now, at most, I would just look for walkthroughs when I'm stuck at parts.

This man understands me, clearly. Cheats are there to have FUN at screwing the game, not to play through it with all in-game limitations broken. Thus my policy of finishing all games a minimum of three times: one to see the ending, one to get a full 100% save file, and one to cheat around and [tornado fang] up and see how far I can get while screwing the system. :P

Yup, IAWTP. Hence my mention of breaking the hell outta the BK games, in game exploits in the Metroid series, etc.

EDIT - Forgive me my gaming counterparts for that. XD
