...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

@ OBJECTION MAN MaxRock said you can rename the folder to anything you want. And if it will not work then just move it all to another directory.

Neither worked.

sad that saudio's dll im using has not fully support in game maker 8 XD
anyway, OBJECTION MAN, try to defragement  partition on which the game is installed(select both options in the popup window), it was fixing the error in windows 7^^ or try to move, rename and exchange the sounds dll with this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?jqm0mzq2jnq
If still nothing then well, few choices still left. Clear windows registry via toniart's easy cleaner(along with temp files)(need to run it as admin), wait for 4th demo or i can give you the link to demo 3_0, but that's the version beta testers used for searching bugs sooo its failsafe but its not using that dll.

OBJECTION MAN

The DLL file you linked to fixed it. Thanks.

Holy crap. It was worth the wait. This is a fan game with some talent behind it!

You guys captured the essence of the EXE series almost to a 't'. I have to say I'm very impressed. It felt like an official game, even right down to the writing. It even made me laugh too.

Here are a few things I noticed:
- I got a Reflect chip from battling a mettaur, but it never showed up in my pack. Later on in the demo I got another one, and it did go into my pack. I got a third, and it added it to the pack, so I had two total at that point.

- Dog house script triggered by SciLab console (image attached)

- Shouldn't Megaman's buster be able to fire faster the closer he is to the opponent? I thought I remember that from the EXE series.

- Holding a direction through a room change doesn't keep you moving. You have to release and press down again. Minor, but annoying.

Overall, this is an extremely impressive demo. I only wish there were more options for button settings and such. I got around it with Joy2Key but still.

REALLY glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you continue to follow us as we progress even farther, 4th demo will have chapters 1 and 2 and there is an online mode that's in progress.  We will continually post major updates here but monitor us as you see fit

Also, all those bugs have been fixed so no worries.

I just hope you tried out the secret stuff in demo3 after Raven.

OBJECTION MAN

I haven't even gotten that far. Lan's dad went into a meeting, and I took a side quest off the BBS, completed it, and that's as far as I got so far.

glad you liked it so far. 3rd demo was relased in april, and from that time i fixed all the bugs it had^^ for players movement, well its not that annoying for me so i left it like that. And when it comes to the buster it is so. But a bit faster than in normal bn games, so maybe you havent noticed it. Making the buttons customizeable now would be boring task and would take too much time. I dont want to make delays^^;

this is a picture of Max and his netnavi Zeta.exe.   Screenies of our progress will come really soon.

MaxRock

I finally programed Library, and also added many chips(Note: standard library's not at screenshot to not spoil things, also not all programed mega chips are visible on the list as well(again, to not spoil^^))

New fresh design of custscreen

Swordy viris gonna be in CX as well

Shield_Joe

So saw the thread and played around with the demo a bit, and frankly its awesome.
About the 4th teaser....seeing that option to skip the tutorial made my day. :D

Keep up the good work!
I come in peace, or so I'd like to think.

I just had to program that cutscene after adding Central3 area xD

RetroRespecter

Looks like you guys are taking your time with this game.

Rayl

NOOOO! NOT INTO THE PIT! IT BUURRRRRRRNS!

You've got some really awesome stuff here, really looking forward to this now :D Keep it coming!

Edit: Downloaded, installed the game from the install version, loaded it up and it gave me an error message so i tried it with the DLL file that was given and it still gave out the same problems so i decided to ignore it until it let me play which it did and well... no music was a given i suppose considering but almost every action other then moving gave me an error message.

MaxRock

@Rayl try to clean windows's registry, or rename/move game's folder or ... the thing that always fix that bug: defragment the partition on which the game is installed.
@RetroRespecter yaaa XD our team is veeery small, also remember, good things comes to those who waits ;P

Greetings Chrono X fans!  I have something I would like to discuss with you today.  Recently, our musician has tried Chrono X's music more GBA styled.  What we would to ask from the fans is, which version of our music do you like better?  Please reply to this message with your opinion with a reason as to why.

This is our ORIGINAL boss theme

Now this is the GBA version.  It's not exactly perfect, but it's a close approximation.

Listen and voice your opinion.  Thank you.

RetroRespecter

That's a unique take on a boss battle.

OBJECTION MAN

The GBA version is better because, sadly, it has better mixing and samples. I don't believe you should limit yourself to the GBA's sound capabilities, but I do think the music needs a lot more work.

Hello fans! I am informing you that the GBA version has won the poll!  The screenshot right there is proof of this.

All the music in the game will now be switched to GBA version.  Thank you for your time.

RetroRespecter

No surprise there. Most, if not all, Megaman Battle Network Games have been made specifically for the GameBoy Advance.

MaxRock

Time for litle update:D
We are getting very close to relase. 4th demo gonna enter RelaseCandidate stage soon, what left is adding few more chips, viris, plot-wise stuff, NPCs(that's why the screenies looks soo empty without other characters, but it's much easier and faster to add them as the last thing) and of course hard beta testing.
(Spriter's APP submission is still open, so who haven't send the email yet, should do it soon!)

Guitar Duel!! Who gonna win?!

What's wrong with Mayl?

Tab's store. Wonder what chips tooks Lan's attention?

What's this? Some kind of basement? Maybe Lan got lost?

Shineey!

Floating cubes o-o!

MegaMan got angry at poor Mettaurs! xD

Also, all status/AI messing(Trumpet) chips are done as well!
