Chris Corona: Tryout #4

This is my fourth attempt of drawing Chris Corona's hairstyle
and this one came out much differently than his previous
incarnations.

I feel this is the perfect for him, but it still needs some more
work on it before it's perfect I believe.

What are your thoughts on it?

Well the hair does look a lot better, though the face proportions are definitly not right.

The key point is the hair right? Anything else just didn't have as much work put into it.

I think it's great you're really working his hair style; changing little bits of it as you go along until eventually you have something
that's unique to the character and fits him. You really have come a long way since you been here chris!

Yeah I have to agree with that, Chris you have come a long way but never stop improving yourself and you'll truly be great.

If someone is looking straight forward place the iris in the center of the eye, other wise it gives the sense of a smallish face or somewhat cross-eyedness. This is neither straight nor good looking (and I tend to draw the iris too big) but I think you get the idea. It should fix the face proportions Sakura was talking about.

Really I have no right to try and help with as bad as I am, but I kinda know things about eyes maybe a little so take of it what you will ^^;

Don't say that Cephi you're much better than I am since I can't draw people just objects and even then it's not that amazing since I need art classes but don't really have the time for them nor the patience to teach myself.

Also it's also the neck that's really bugging me since it's really thin compared to the head.

If you get the time, you should definitely take a look at this site: http://www.posemaniacs.com/ (this goes for anyone trying to get better at drawing)

Anatomy is the hardest and most important part of drawing, and requires lots of practise to get it right. On the right there´s this "30 seconds drawing" that a great excercise (you can actually set the time for more than 30 secs, and periodically reduce the time as you get better). Don´t trace the drawings tho, that´s not gonna help you improve. Also there are skinless dudes and chicks, can´t get better than that.

Or you could look for more anime specific tutorial too, but this should work too.

I'll definitely keep on practicing to improve myself so I can finally work my manga project "VirusChris".

Body Anatomy:

Just a simple little drawing on drawing the upper body with
some pants on.

Also I wanted to show Chris Corona' pants (though in the
LaTale version the right side of the pants are cut down to
look like shorts while the left side is fine making his jeans
look like a cross between pants and shorts).

You're not Japanese, it won't be in Japanese, and it's meaning is the same as in English..
just say comic, ugh.

Other than that, I think the legs are too short, and that belt line is weird.
But keep up sketching.

I had a feeling, but I really wanted to show off the pants but the belt line was giving me some trouble. Going to
look for some belt line reference when making pants.

Manga is Manga, a graphic novel or comic. I just prefer Manga since that's the style of comic making I'm going
with. I plan for my manga to read right-to-left like how most mangas from Japan are.
You don't have to be Japanese to make a Manga, there are already some Original English Language Mangas in
the US already.

I do plan to have some of my character say a few words in Japanese (in Romaji), since some of them of a
Japanese descent (with the main Heroine being pure Japanese) and a few other languages as well.
Well my next post will be for the Trident hairstyle of Chris to improve on that one and maybe a sneak peek at the
"VirusChris" manga title too.

Quick tip on belt lines: The butt will usually make the back of the pants sit higher on the hips than the front, even if just slightly.

Chris - Different Hair Styles

This is the two different hair-styles that my character Chris
has in the different series he appears in.

TRIDENT HAIR-STYLE:
The Legendary Heroes "RPG project"
VirusChris "Manga project"
Virakin Advent "Action Side-Scroll RPG project"

FROST-TIP SPIKY HAIR-STYLE:
LaTale: Tales of Corona
Magleutix Tales
Unnamed project "Manga/Game project"

As you see I'm trying to figure out which way I should draw
the Trident hairstyle. Right now it's really hard because of the
way it is, but I'm getting there. My friend, Asvel, made an
awesome version of this hair-style in one of her drawings
(though it the characters have a more realistic look to them)
and I hope I can reach that level to draw the Trident hair the
way I want.

And for the Spiky Frost-tip I've re-design it again and I think I
found the best look for it! It has that spiky look I wanted with
the white frost-tips at the end (which is a natural fadeout).

Any feedback would be nice as I like to improve on these
hairstyles for my character.

Odd? Oops I meant to say "Old" on the Spiky one, but I'm going towards the "New" one as that's the one that's closest to what I envision for Chris Corona's hairstyle.

And yeah the Asvel that goes here, I haven't heard from her in a long time with the recent natural disasters happening I'm getting really worried about her.
