James and Meowth almost dropped their jaws at Domino's sudden decision to address the court at the cost of her job and position. Though they were thankful that both Mewtwo and Team Rocket were going to be spared of any aftermath consequences, they were equally mortified of what's going to happen once Giovanni finds out they had been involved in this traitorous situation.
Hierophant, Tarot Skitty, and its cards meanwhile, were suddenly drawn towards an unseen sense of Tarot Energy looming around bias Jenny's already negative appearance. What appeared to be a glowing wheel spinning below her feet, spewing crescent shaped moons around her. Whatever was causing this seemed to want to force her to fess up to something she may have had a hand in tipping towards Team Rocket's favor.
While they wanted to know what Jenny might have done to turn the case against Mewtwo, they were more worried about who was causing this. They may not have any clue just how determined she was to turn the entire nature of life, itself, against Mewtwo and ensure he gets the "punishment" she thinks he deserves, all for the pure sake of satisfying her own selfish vengeance. She could very well attempt to fight back the illusions by convincing the court to focus on the here and now, putting Domino's very sacrifice into jeopardy as the court still hasn't been convinced that Mewtwo attacked Carr for the sake of protecting his clones, and not because of some "inbred primal instinct" to kill for the sake of killing.
Merrick compresses his lips as he sinks his card towards the floor and attempts to figure out who sent the Pokemon that was most likely corrupting Jenny's train of thought, noticing some shadows outside the courtroom. They had familiar auras, but seemingly little clue of bias Jenny's tenacity beyond her blatant hatred for Mewtwo's very existence. He decides, at the very least, to keep an eye on them and make sure they know what they were doing before intervening and warning them of the possible excuses Jenny might spew out to the court that have nothing to do with her supposed involvement in turning the court towards Team Rocket's "professional" favor.
He quietly slips his card through the cracks under the courtroom doors and ducks behind one of the legs of the benches lined up along the walls next to the doors. Once sure that no one's noticed, he pops part of his body out of the card and pokes his head around the bench leg, seeing Sakura, N, and Sapph almost camping around the hallway, talking about wanting to make Jenny remember what her job is supposed to be. This wasn't the time or place to be reminding her of her responsibilities, but at the same time, he didn't want to stop their intentions until he sensed Jenny about to redraw the court's attention back to Mewtwo's current behavior and "intentions".
