Topic: Pizza: How do you roll?

I had a fun experience the other night with pizza. We ordered from Pizza Hut and received a "meat lovers" (pepperoni, ham, pork, beef, Italian sausage, and bacon pieces) instead of the "super supreme" (pepperoni, ham, pork, beef, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and black olives) that we had ordered. Lucky us, they sent a super supreme and let us keep the meat. 

ANYWAY how this relates to RPM is I know a lot of the posters here, (if only from my lurking), and I was curious what kinds of pizza you all like? I like both the kind from Pizza Hut (the stuffed crust super supreme) but I have to say I enjoy the thin crust from Papa Johns with chicken and spinach, but I hate their regular crust and sauce as it has almost no flavor and their onions are too strong (due to being cut for a long time I suspect, or maybe the type they use). Also, a place called Papa Murphy's around here is nice, they make the crust and put everything on it, and you just take it home to cook it, which I think is a great idea honestly, as often times making your own pizza is a little time consuming (if you like lots of toppings and have to chop chop chop), and it tastes very fresh when you cook it.

There was a small pizza joint in Georgia I kind of liked, they were locally owned and what have you. It was okay but it took me 3 hours to get my pizza once because they were mucking around and the pizza was often salty/greasy/crust was too hard. I also have had Little Caesars a few times due to the "$5 for a medium pepperoni" deal and I have to say they had excellent sauce. And I never had Dominoes pre "we are better now and have better sauce and stuff lolololol" but I have been a few times since and I really enjoyed it.

So what about it RPM? What do you like on your pizza? Any fun pizza stories?

also I love ordering online, less chance they will mess up the order, and if they do everything is recorded so they can't say "der you didn't order it that way"

The only place I really won't eat pizza from is papa johns for the same reasons you mentioned ;  I guess I jus don't like "Fresher Ingredients".
Other than that I'm pretty boring with the types I'll eat ^^;

I don't order from those big pizza factories, I prefer home made food. All I need is very thick base, champignons, pepperoni, and lots of cheese.

Homemade pizza is great, but I rarely have the time to spend making it.

I'd say my two favorite pizza places currently are Papa Murphy's and Little Caesar's.  Sadly the LC here has been closed for years, but Papa Murphy's just came back after being absent for a while.

Pizza Hut's alright, though I liked their crust better before they started using frozen dough discs for everything (I worked there during that transition, to boot).  Domino's has gone from barely edible to decent since they changed their recipe, but the garlic flavoring in the crust is just the shake-on powder they use on their breadsticks (I've worked there too, so I know that stuff when I see it), so they lose points for being cheapos.

I think my favorite pizza place of all time is a place called Sicily's that I used to order from when I lived in north California.  That [parasitic bomb] was incredible.

Pizza Hut's about the only big chain pizza place that doesn't cause to have some form of indigestion. But I'm fond of the simple fare, pepperoni with extra cheese.

Local would have to be;
Anna's has pretty good pizza. Lucio O's is decent (But it doesn't beat their subs. They are freaking delicious.  )

I like my pizza both ways. From a fast-food chain and from small pizza shops. Although I have yet to try [parasitic bomb] like DiGorno's and Red Baron.

one day i found out that i could eat pizza on a bagle, allowing me to eat pizza any time i wanted to.  this includes - but is not limited to - the morning, the evening, and even supper time.

I'm cool with the fast food joints. I've eaten whole Domino's pies by myself. But I'm a New Yorker, so my pizza shops top all.

Also, I'll eat any pizza delivered by Spider Man. Pizza Time!

But in all the seriousness this topic can have, I enjoy Dominoes. Though Pizza Hut made me throw up once. Homemade is good too.

Man, this topic and all your responses just makes PB sad.  I mean, I know that Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Papa Johns are probably the only options that people have out there, but still, that's just sad.

Chain pizza is the WORST.  THE. WORST.  Even though Dominoes has become actually edible, it's still not that great.  Hell, Kiernan mentioned Little Caesars, which is downright frightening in how disgusting I found their stuff.




THIS is Pizza. NY Style Pizza cannot be beat.  I'm not really into topping, so the only style of pizza I get is either plain or with Pepperoni, cause I love Pepperoni.  Also, when I ask for Pizza, I want it super hot out of the oven, with the cheese still bubbling and so that the crust will stay straight.



Sicilian Style is also very good as well.  I prefer regular NY style, but still this is good too.  The important thing is that it's NY style, because NY style is the best.  THE BEST.

Yeah PB, you live in New York.  I live in a little podunk craphole in Wyoming that's lucky to have a McDonald's.  There aren't even any local pizza places around here.  The only thing we had was a Pizza Hut and a Domino's for -years.-

I've only had the chain store pizza once or twice. I've had Papa Murphy's a lot (but that's fresh, and it's Take & Bake) and that was delicious. But we also had a pizzeria in my town, which was tasty too. Where I live now, there's a few pizza places we order from (none chain) and it's awesome too. I like the Chicken Pesto pizza we get from there! ^_^

I like the pizza I get at the local organic store it really tastes good.  I also like El Pizza Loco and Dominos only because I don't live in New York.

One more thing I must add: Local pizza always beats chain pizza, solely because of the dough that is used.
