Sonic Adventure is already on PC, as that person said in that article.

Weird, whats the point? Unless they plan on HD-ifying the game for the modern era. Or base it more off of the DC version. Nah, still don't see the reason for this. Unless they re-release the DLC from the Dreamcast era. Why is there such a huge sonic explosion so recently? Its not even going to be the 20th anniversary until next year...

I'm glad they're releasing the DC original as well. Preferred it to the new version.

This may be a ridiculous idea, but what if the game is being remade with newer graphics?

They tried that with the DX port already. And in many ways, the DX port was worse than the US version of the DC original.

Before Sonic 1 GBA, it was easily the worst example of how Sonic Team could screw up what should have been a relatively easy port job. I wouldn't trust them to try again.

Ben, I don't think you would trust Sonic Team to grill you a Hot Dog.

Or asking directions for the next nintendo warehouse even.

Workshop/DA/YT/Photobucket なにかんがえてるの!?
So its about ass now huh? EVEN THE ASS HAS 'EXCEEDED'!

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Enlighten me.  Besides DX lacking skin textures and containing the exceptionally pointless mission mode, what ways are those?

For one, the frame rate on the GC port was worse. The US DC version was able to hover at a stable frame rate, for the most part. The DX port had skipping problems which were more reminiscent of the "skippiness" that was in the original JP DC version.

Oh, and the bugs. BUGS, BUGS, BUGS. Falling through level geometry for no reason was very present here. And the PC version was often so busted, a few friends of mine had to actually CRACK the game, in order to get it to work. That's right. They had to actually crack their legally bought version, just to get it to run.  8D

For their sake, I hope Sega finds a way to just to take the US DC build, and HD-ify that. At least doing that would be something that wouldn't an outright embarrassment, since that build was much more stable.

I'll grant you it could stand to be more consistent, but the overall framerate of DX is higher.  The US DC version runs at 60 FPS only in the hover-kart minigame; 30 FPS at all other times.  It is VERY noticeable when watching Sonic run at full speed after coming off of SA2.

I recall plenty of that in US DC version as well.  I frankly never paid it any mind; being the Super/Hyper addict that I am, I have many times gotten myself stuck in walls in the Genesis games.  Kinda fitting I most frequently fell through the floor in the Angel Island segment of Mystic Ruins, I suppose.

As far as I know, no matter which version of SA1 that one is discussing, the engine is overall buggy and primitive.  I own and have played both DC and GCN versions to completion, in DX going so far as all emblems, and besides the skin texture shpiel from my previous post I never noticed any failings specific to DX.

Yeah, DC SA Runs slower, the Chao Garden was primitive, and you couldn't skip cutscenes (Ergh.). I've played both (DC ver on PC able to run it Full Speed, GC on... GC.) and to be honest, other than a few small things I liked in DX, I actually like DC more, the crappier Player Models fit better with the rest of the game, because they never bothered to update Eggman, Chaos, or any People NPC's. And the shininess is ugly, to be terribly honest.

But according to the ESRB, BOTH versions are coming out, both original and DX.... odd.

They'll probably come out with something like "Sonic Adventure Special" and you'll be able to choose between both.

So do emulators. I don't see GG games being any relevant to the game itself.

No argument here.  But I do like the framerate boost (even if inconsistent), individual fingers, and Metal Sonic.  Still, I'd in no way object to the DC version.  I just see most of the difference between them as being aesthetic.

I take your point, Sonic Adventure is Sonic Adventure and GG games are GG games, but split-screen 2 player emulation is something that I consider noteworthy.

It is noteworthy. Just not very relevant to the game itself. The GG games are simply extras. They should work on running the game more smoothly.

Well maybe they will. But it really wouldn't be DX without the GG games; it would be SA with shininess, individual fingers, and Metal Sonic.

As I said before, it'll most probably be one single game with both versions as a choice.

If they were gonna do that, and not have the Game Gear games, then why specifically reference the Gamecube version? Why not just say the original DC version, and one with slightly better stuff? That's my point.

I never said "not have the Game Gear games". What I mean is they'll probably have one XBLA game, with both versions easily accessible from the menu, GG games and everything. We're probably gonna get a ton of stuff unchanged, with just a few things such as HD screen compatibility so they don't have to fill the edges of the screen with crappy art and make us play in 4:3.

Of course, so far, both versions of the game are rated, but only the Dreamcast one has been announced. So we'll see.

Or you know, go the route of MM9 and MM10, add "Legacy Mode" for people who want to play with Old Graphics, Old Title Screen, Old Chao... etc. But it won't be Sonic Adventure DC unless they put in Chao Adventure again, and make the DLC Accessible somehow.

DLC, they won't bother. It was just a few skins for levels, if I remember. One of which was "celebrating the Dreamcast's launch". As if they still want to celebrate that. And as for Chao Adventure, they'll either emulate it or get rid of it completely.

...or get rid of the Chao.

Get on with it for christs sake Sega  -_-

PREPOSTEROUS!
Removing Chao would gurantee that the game will suck.
Yes, I mad.
