The Hobbit was pretty good. The atmosphere was different than Lord of the Rings. It's a lot more light-hearted and funny. It has its serious moments, but it's mostly silly. The ending drags on for too long, though. Also, if more and more movies are going to go beyond 120 minutes, can't they start putting in intermissions? Some of us need to pee, you know.

That's why you make sure you go before the movie starts.

Yeah, I really liked the Hobbit. Key thing is that for a 3 hour movie, it flew by for me. That could be due to the incredible visuals or the insanely fantastic soundtrack!

I saw Lincoln earlier tonight.  It was great, and provided an interesting insight to the political side of the Civil War.  Daniel Day Lewis was fantastic as Lincoln, and Tommy Lee Jones was great as Thaddeus Stevens.

Sally Field also did a good job.  Mary Todd was a real piece of work.

So yeah, that WAS Glados in the Pacific Rim Trailer. Like, Legit, Valve permitted Glados. del Toro seems to be a Portal fan and really wanted to have GlaDOS for the Power up sequence, but says the filter wont be nearly so GlaDOS for the movie.

Although lol, the way he said it:

"The filter we're using is slightly less GLaDOS. Slightly. The one in the trailer I wanted to be full-on GlaDOS."

http://kotaku.com/5973435/glados-did-appear-in-pacific-rims-trailer-but-wont-return-for-the-movie?

Just saw Django Unleashed.

I [tornado fang]ing LOVE IT.  Blood, sweet humor, LOTSA n-words.  more Blood, excellent gun action scenes, it's great :D

edit: *Unchained.

for like since I heard of it, I always thought it was Unleashed....even when buying the ticket or even during the movie...I dunno how the hell I didn't realize that...

Watched Skyfall a few weeks ago.

For my first Bond movie, I really, really enjoyed it. And the Skyfall opening song gave me goosebumps, Adele is a phenomenal singer.

This certainly looks better than the disappointment that was Iron Man 2.

I liked Iron Man 2, it wasn't as good as the first one but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

This does look better than it though. Hopefully it will be seeing as its the last Solo Iron Man (At least it looks to be that, what with the 3 in the logo going to [parasitic bomb])

Admittedly Iron Man 2 wasn't that good. I still enjoyed it though. Hopefully Iron Man 3 is better.

Yeah, Iron Man 2 wasn't as good as the first, I can admit that. Still fun to watch, but eh.

I have faith in this one though.

Finally got to see Wreck It Ralph today~

A friend bought the DVD, so the rest of us gathered at her place to watch it.

I must say, the twist towards the end... Kinda saw it coming.

Watched The Hunger Games on Netflix. It was [parasitic bomb].

I could barely tell what was going on during the action scenes because the camera was shaking like crazy every [tornado fang]ing second; even in the very beginning where the protagonist is simply jogging through her village, the camera was going nuts.

Afterwards, they spent way to much time sitting around in The Hunger Games stadium or whatever the hell it was, when they should've started the game 30 minutes earlier.

The part where the game first began was awful: everyone was running towards the weapons/supplies and the killing scenes were just unbelievably bad. Most the killing was off screen for whatever reason.

Most of them didn't show any remorse or mercy. No hesitation. All of the contestants are children, and a group of them were [tornado fang]ing laughing while murdering the others. It made no sense.

Now for the positives:

- Jennifer Lawrence is a serious babe
- The acting was generally pretty good for the most part
- The soundtrack is... passable

... that's about it. No backstory on anyone, they don't let you feel or care about the character, "the future" looks like the [tornado fang]ing 80s with a vengeance and, well... I just don't give a [parasitic bomb] about the world they live in or their totalitarian system, because they don't give the viewer a reason to. Terrible movie direction right there.

He looks like the perfect fit for Superman. Maybe a bit too good looking for an average joe like Clark Kent, however.

Watched The Hobbit and Lincoln.

Both are really terrific movies. The Hobbit looks super crisp and stunning in blu-ray quality. Will buy it when I have the chance.

Finally got around to watching Dark Knight Rises after putting it off for the longest time. I'm pretty late to this party indeed.

Not sure what to think of it.

I still think Begins was the best Batman movie. Feels like it tries too much to be both Knightfall, AND Dark Knight Returns, without letting either fully sink in... I just dunno. I felt the second one was trying too hard to be all blockbuster AAA, but it's pretty tame compared to this one. I'm not sure I really liked it. It was alright, but it just seems to try and cram way too much into it's story, without, again, letting those parts really sink in... The ending... Also felt kind of unsatisfying. It was nice, nice way to tie to Alfred's earlier story, but... Felt too contrived. I didn't really buy it too much.

EDIT: Also, Talia really comes right the [tornado fang] out of nowhere. Her purpose is literally just to be "WHAT A TWEEST". She appears literally for no other purpose than to do that, then die. I found Bane to be much better than I expected, but then he wasn't even the true mastermind, and flushed all that down the toilet. AND was dispatched like any other mook. (after having been revealed to be just a mook, essentially.) The [tornado fang].
