I mean, you KNOW DC/Warner has gotta be trying to do whatever they can to eventually get a piece of the Avengers Movie Continuity pie.
I really like the musical piece for the trailer. Some people say it's not Superman enough, because they are used to the kinds of themes from the Reeve movies and Animated Series. But personally, I think it works REALLY well. Leave the bold themes to the Nolan Batman. Supes with a more softer "deep" theme actually works really damn well.
On Returns: it had potential, but the problem was the villain. Luthor was just plain overdone. He's been an enemy in the movies, and an ever present enemy in the cartoons. They needed something fresh, and they didn't deliver. (Although Superman lifting the Kryptonite island out of the ocean was pretty cool)
Routh bears an uncanny resemblance to Christopher Reeve, so he was a great superman, and Spacey is awesome as Luthor, (WROOOOOONG!) Lois I didnt like- It just felt like it tried too hard to be this character drama first and a Superman movie second, what with the kid, and with the "we dont need superman" thing... And it followed the Reeve continuity, which while a novel idea, leaves most things explored already.
