Im really liking this concept, its RPG Meets Action sort of game, can't wait until its completed so we can play :p to bad I missed the streaming :(  But its ok...patients is worth it...plus I wanna see more of it in action it looks freaking awesome!

MegaManGamer123

sorry to ask this because you probably answered it before , what does that little bar above the health bar do , is it for xp ?

Definitely XP. In the junkyard video, after he kills the boss you see it fill up a couple of times.

Hello. Like many have said before, I've been following this a while and just now decided to join.

Before all else, I'd just like to say that I love what you're doing here, JKB. The first 3 X games are like the closest games to my heart, and metroidvania is like my favorite type of gameplay style, so I'm very happy about all this. Looks awesome. Sounds awesome. Can't wait to play it.

You seem very dedicated to avoiding the problem of many multiple character games, where you'll usually just focus on one. So kudos. Also, the harder difficulties really excite me. The whole no health drops thing is REALLY cool. I feel too many games don't really punish you for your mistakes, but with this every mistake will count! Awesome!

So on that note, I noticed you saying there will be no checkpoints and no extra life refills at Save Capsules in S+.

So are there even lives in S+? Because without checkpoints, they're pretty much pointless. That would be fine. I'm just curious.

There are extra-lives hard-placed throughout the areas. And automatic checkpoints are still enabled for example on pre-boss rooms.

Ah I see! So lives are really hard to come by, making them extremely precious and heart-rending to lose. Neat neat.

I've been going around on multiple forums discussing the game and from what I gather JKB is having a bit of a hard time finding spriters for the bosses that are willing to do this for free.

I'm probably in the minority (late 20's with plenty of disposable income) but would it be possible to try and raise some cash to try and see if JKB can get some spiters?

I'm not sure if it would be alright to do so, but seeing as all I can do is sit and wait for this come out, I'd gladly give some cash to help[ the project along.

What do you think JKB? Is this doable? I have no idea how much a good spriter would charge, would it be way too much for a few people to get together and scrounge up the cash? Hell, maybe paying someone to work on this isn't even a good idea for legal reasons.

Hopefully this isn't a stupid idea and can help with progress.

You've been doing a great job JKB! I cannot wait for this to come out. Truth be told I've been thinking about a metroid/megaman X game since 2001 and had all sorts of ideas written out. I almost fainted when I found out about your project!

Don't think Capcom would approve of anyone getting paid for this...

I wonder if I could help? o.o`

I'm not very confident I can pull off the X series sprite style...

chimera_king

Art Commissions are not getting paid for it tho; you see thats a payment of the art service not the game :) Legally speaking, if its noted they being paid for their work, not the game or the person working on it, then its totally kosher.

RockEsper

I'd donate. Definitely. ...But yeah, I'm not sure if that would even be legal.

I'm surprised there aren't more artists out there who would make the sprites just to get their art out and to support such an awesome project.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

NumeroGaijin

Hmm Zero never did get to ride on one of those did he? I can't remember him getting on.
